A perfect spot right beside Derwent water great for a morning walk,the rooms are spacious and clean.Our bed was a little unsupportive but not uncomfortable and adequate.The food is second to none with home grown fresh produced used daily.We had several lovely cooked breakfasts and the evening meals were superb,topped with great service and friendly helpful staff that makes all the difference.We visited as it was recommended by my sister who has been several times we now know why,thanks you for a memorable break.

I have stayed here several times, it never ceases to please!
The staff are so friendly, the food portions are huge, situated on Derwent Water, a 10 minute drive from Keswick.

Great location

My first time here and first time away for Christmas. The staff are exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. Christmas night dinner was spectacular. The crab salad was tasty and the beef Wellington was beyond perfect. And so much of it. The cheese was the best one I have ever had. The owners should be very proud of their staff, they are a credit to the hotel and to the hospitality industry. Thank you all for a special time. We stayed in the annex room 17 . Lovely room and just right for three old dears and 4 dogs. We will be back!

A perfect Christmas stay

excellent all round, very clean, an welcoming, friendly environment, food was perfect, large portions excellent for money, unbelievable views,breakfast was very good an excellent choice, would definitely recommend to anyone going to keswick

Beautiful hotel in a stunning  perfect location. Staff were so friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant had beautiful stunning views of Catbells  and the feeders around the hotel were amazing full of the most beautiful birds. The hotel was right next to a Jetty with a ferry running into Keswick every half hour. I would highly recommend this Hotel and cant wait to return.

Perfect location and a beautiful hotel.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the Lakeland countryside. Our stay was made all the more enjoyable by the pleasant staff, in particular Hazel who made our stay extra special by her courteous attentive manner. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely stay there again.

Excellent staff

My wife and I along some with very good friends have just spent a  fantastic long weekend at this hotel.  It is a family run hotel, so they are able to make you feel very much at home. The room 26 was lovely, great view over Derwent water. 
All the food was great, good sized portions and expertly cooked, presented and served. A well stocked bar with a couple of nice real ales
The staff were all very helpful and happy! and worked hard at giving us a great time. Hazel looked after us throughout our stay, and was bubbly, cheerful and chatty. 
Excellent location for the hotel, lots of walks and hiking if that’s what you want and near enough to many of the local towns. Would definitely use this one again

Great family run hotel, with good food

We stayed for two days arriving last Sunday. Great hotel in a great location. We had the bed breakfast and evening meal deal and can’t complain about any of the food, everything was perfect. The staff were all lovely too, nothing was a bother to them.Will definitely stay again.

Great stay in Lake District

Our room was quite small, but very clean and it had everything you needed and we had a lovely lake view. 
You could see the staff cleaning and hoovering the reception area, making sure the place is spotless. 
Restaurant prices are a bit high, however the food was delicious. I recommend chef's special for breakfast, we had some pancakes and they were amazing!! All staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Great stay!!

My wife and I stayed here from 2nd February 2023 for 5 nights. We'd never stayed here before but knew the area and wanted to get some walking in.
The hotel was very welcoming, the room was not in the main hotel (garden annexe I think) but was lovely and only a very short stroll to all the amenities.
The food was excellent - we ended up eating in the restaurant every night and never had a bad meal.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The location is pretty much perfect for walking in Borrowdale, Derwentwater, Cat Bells etc. without using the car - its even close to the ferry jetty that takes you around the lake and into Keswick.
We really couldn't fault it to be honest.
