Excellent French bistro style food- wonderful chicken and foie gras liver parfait to start and excellent Salmon en croute (Coulibiac) for main course. My wife had Roquefort Soufflé and  Chicken Savoyard - I tasted both of them and they were also extremely good. Wine list very reasonably priced too. Will very happily return if we’re up here again.

Excellent meal

Absolutely top notch. My husband and I dined for a date night. We were holidaying in Crieff and decided to dine at Yanns after reading the awesome reviews. What a gem! I fully recommend the sirloin as it basically melted in my mouth! Best sticky toffee pudding ever. Fantastic ambience. Gorgeous gorgeous food and hospitality. We will definitely come again!!

Stunning food

We chose Yanns to celebrate my wife’s birthday when visiting Crieff . 

We were greeted at the door and politely ushered through to a soft seating area where our drinks order was taken. Yanns had a wonderfully vibrate and welcoming atmosphere as soon as we entered. The waiting staff were delightful and attentive.

We both chose the fabulous onion soup to start. Having been informed, that due to supply shortages the first choice of moule was unavailable we both ended choosing the chicken. The main course did not disappoint, it was wonderfully tender and by no means a poor second choice.

On her birthday, my wife opted for the creme brûlée to finish. From her expression she was very happy.

If you are looking for somewhere to spoil yourselves and you’re in the area then you’ll not be disappointed in choosing Yanns. We will certainly be visiting again when next in the region.

Yanns-delightfully welcoming and the food is excellent

I first visited Yanns a couple of months ago for work and loved it so much I knew I’d be back. My family and I were not disappointed.
Shari and the front of house made us feel very welcome, such lovely people who can’t do enough for you. Our room was perfect. Clean, quirky and comfortable. Perfect. 
Food was amazing and just sitting outside pre dinner having a drink in the sunshine was lovely and relaxing.  Very reasonably priced for such great food.
Can’t wait to visit again.

Perfect overnight

Found this little gem on tripadvisor ,we booked a table for last night. The food was amazing, we had french onion soup , mushroom soup of the day ,main course ,mussels , and the special chicken in Parma ham with masala sauce. With a beautiful bottle of Malbec. If your eating out it’s a must. We will be back. Very relaxed dinning experience. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Fantastic

We truly had a wonderful time at Yanns, 2 rooms. 4 adults for 2 nights. The rooms were beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds and good showers in clean bathrooms. The staff and owners were lovely, Sherry and Yann were so welcoming and Mischa was really attentive and helpful, despite them all being run off their feet busy. The food on both evenings was beautiful, the French onion soup is so good, the lads had the pierrade on the first night and loved every mouthful, a fun way to have their meals and then the steaks on the second night which were as good as we remember from a previous visit. Yann made me a special fish dish on the second night which was beautifully cooked. Breakfast was fabulous, I've never had scrambled eggs like it before, so tasty. The wine selection was really good, so much so we went to the local suppliers in Crief to bring some home with us! I recommend The Holy Snail white, so nice! All in all 5*s for these guys, we will be back at some point. Local recommendations - the handy shop for fruit and veg, the farm shop for meat, the wine shop for wine, Glen Turret distillery for something interesting and whiskey related and the Loch Turret for a walk but be prepared if you want to do the whole loop - well worth the drive up for the views alone. Amazing - food, wine, service, accommodation - all 5*

I can highly recommend this lovely restaurant. Unusual to find an authentic French restaurant in a Victorian property in a Scottish village. Welcomed by Shari I had the special ‘Moules Marinière’ to start. My wife had the very traditional and (she said) absolutely delicious French onion soup with our son opting for the garlic bread. For mains my wife and I went for the La Pierrade, a decent selection of lamb chops, duck and beef steak (we opted not to have the pork) that we grilled ourselves at the table, a selection of traditions sauces, large bowl of salad and fried. Excellent, a great choice and very filling. Our son had steak frites with pepper sauce. We were too full for desert and will happily return to this restaurant when in the area again. I would rate the standard, quality and presentation of the food at Yann’s restaurant on a par with top London French restaurants. Thank you for a delicious meal and nice experience.

Lovely authentic French meal - excellent

After visiting Yann's restaurant a year ago, my partner and i had an amazing experience and enjoyed the most incredible beef wellingtons... A year later we decided this time to stay the night and again experience the wonderful food and ambience of the place (Little did my partner know it was a surprise for her birthday).

It was even better than we remembered!

The room was really cosy and lovely, a perfect night away.

As we sat down for dinner, it was as if we were taken straight back to our trip to Cannes a year ago. Prior to the stay, i messaged Shari to cheekily ask if beef wellingtons were still a special. To our incredible delight they brought back the beef wellington as a special just for the evening!! They truly made our evening special.

The starters we had were the fois gras and eggs benedict, both ... out of this world. The wellingtons then came out and words cannot describe how good it was... i am happy to say we both are planning to make a celebratory day once a year called wellington day along with birthdays and Xmas!

The wine was exquisite. We enjoyed a Malbec which was delicious with the beef!

Finally in the morning, we enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast and the hosts Yann and Shari were so welcoming and friendly throughout the stay. We can't thank them enough for giving us an incredible memory and can't wait to come back!!

By far the best food and guesthouse we have experienced. We couldn't recommend Yann's enough to anyone considering a stay in Crieff or Scotland.

An incredible dinner and stay, making a birthday very special!

We had booked a two night stay at Glenearn House but after receiving such a warm welcome, being shown to our beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean room and pre-dinner drinks in the amazing garden, we immediately booked an extra night. We had dinner in the restaurant every evening.  Why would we want to eat anywhere else when the food was superb? Generous portions, lovely atmosphere and attentive staff.   Breakfast was amazing.  Yann makes the fluffiest, tastiest  scrambled eggs on earth and how can he make a tomato taste so utterly delicious?
Shari and Yann kindly recommended places to visit, coffee shops and also loaned us road maps.  
Thank you Shari and Yann for making our trip to Scotland so special.  We look forward to staying at Glenearn House again in hopefully the not too distant future.

Perfect and More

We stayed at Glenearn House in January 2020 and we were very impressed.The property is beautiful with wonderful furniture, ornaments and items making for a warm welcome which is matched by Yann himself. The bedroom was clean, tidy and complimented the rest of the property. Yann is obviously a proud Frenchman and the Scottish/French feel is lovely. Yann could not have been nicer and more accommodating. We will definitely be back.
