Do yourself a favor and do not stay here under any circumstances. We experienced severe issues with the functionality of the rooms and a complete breakdown in communication with the staff. Our toilet was not working, and the only solution provided was a toilet located several floors below our room. They refused to offer us a new room or a refund.
Moreover, the staff was unprofessional and became hostile when we expressed our dissatisfaction with their so-called solutions. At 11 PM, they offered us a full refund if we vacated the premises by midnight, knowing full well this was impractical. An hour before our scheduled check-out, they suddenly offered us a new room, again clearly aware of the timing.
To add insult to injury, they promised a 15% refund but only credited us €0.01. It is evident that they do not care about their customers at all. Avoid this place at all costs.

We booked this hotel as it is  a good location for BST Summertime. It was an expensive very basic room with a view of a brick wall. The sheets were clean and pure white and the towels were decent. However, the room was in need of updating. The bedside light did not work, some of the sockets didn’t work and there was no extraction fan in the bathroom.
In addition, I had to give my credit card details for pre-authorisation for any extras, but I have absolutely no idea what these ‘ extras’ would have been, as there were no other facilities in the hotel and no-one on reception when we left to check.
It was a clean room for the night but that’s about all.

An expensive room in a functional hotel .

Our toilet was sealed in and out of order for a day. Staff lied to us about the time when toilet will be functional again. (Othervise we would have decided to check-out)

Then sent 1h before midnight a letter, that if we check-out, we get refund.

Also offered 1h before leaving time, a new room... offered compensation, whitch didnt come. 

Asked hotel manager,  where should we piss and poop? He was rude and upset and told us that we can use the shower. 

I am just sad, I did not read these comments before booking.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We should have listened to the previous reviews that warned of the inadequacies of this hotel. I wish we would have.  In addition to the poor customer service, the outlets in the hotel sparked upon plugging in the adapter. There was no air conditioning or a fan. You could not move through the room unless all persons were on their bed, and the bathroom shower was completely inaccessible even for an able bodied person. I can’t reiterate enough my disappointment in the customer service at this hotel. Which is a shame because good customer service would have helped alleviate a lot of the problems. 
When the booking was first made, the accommodations requested were in a Handicapped Accesible location or on a lower floor.
Upon receipt of this request the hotel replied that there would be a second floor accommodation available. A second floor per British standards is “the floor that is two floors above the ground level. I have taken video and photographs showing that the Brompton location has indeed a first floor after 17 steps. Then 4 more steps to another floor. A third set of steps that takes you to a floor, and a fourth set of steps that takes you to the floor we were assigned to stay on. Additionally, in British English,  the second floor could be understood as the the floor of a building that is two floors above ground. As evident in the video and the photographs, the floor we stayed on is definitely 3 floors (set of steps) above ground level. 
Additionally, a second inquiry to the hotel asking about “step-free” access from the underground transit to the road was made. The response to this inquiry was received several days after inquiry, and the response from the hotel was made while in transit to the hotel. This response only then included mention of about 40 steps. The actual count is 44, and no physically challenged individual should be expected to climb that height. And the response was received too late to make any changes. 
Additionally, upon check-in, Harry mentioned there was no rooms available on the lower floor. 
It was only after we called bookings.com that a communication was received from bookings.com that Harry offered to move us to the “first floor” or the floor that is two sets of steps from the ground floor. This accommodation would help with the steps, but we discovered the bathtub was also inaccessible for someone with mobility limitations, and when we considered the fall risk associated with the bathroom and the steps to the room, and the amount of walking to do in London, we made the difficult decision to leave. This was not decision we wanted to make,  but this accommodation was UNSAFE for the two individuals in the group who have mobility challenges. I requested that the cancellation of the reservation first made for the following day, agreeing to pay for 1 night- even though we would not be staying that night in fact. Not only did Harry refuse to allow us to check out, he insisted we email hotel management. We have now sent three emails, with no response. We stayed 7 days in a different London hotel that was lovely.

Don’t stay here- read the reviews and believe them

Awesome location - clean but tired room. Represents excellent value for money for a South Kensington location close to tube and tourist sites. Not the kind of room you'd want to hang out in but perfect for a London crash pad. Friendly staff. No lift so had to drag suitcase up 4 flights of stairs. Staff member did offer to help.

Room is clean and bed very comfortable - well equipped - location very central and easy to step into busy Chelsea- will come back for sure

I have visited some lousy hotels in the past but this one beats the lot of them!
From the moment you walk in and are ignored by the reception staff in the scruffy front office, who demand to take copies of your driving license and then insist on a security deposit that mysteriously increases over the space of 5 minutes to hit three figures!
Old, tired, scruffy, shoddy, take your pick on the best way to describe this poor example of a hotel. 
It’s hard to make a Travelodge look luxurious, but they’ve managed it. 
You’d be better staying on a park bench, at least the service would be better!

Dreadful, scruffy and rude!

Excellently located very close to tube station "South Kensington" (1 min by foot).
Very clean bathroom & shower, power shower on the 5th floor, soft and clean towels! Comfortable beeds and clean sheets. Quiet room towards backyard. The only thing we were not really happy about was the Wifi. It was very slow and we often could not use it at the same time.

Rude staff, no elevator, reception is up a long flight of stairs with no help for luggage. Filthy carpeting. Cracked tiles on bathroom floor that cut your feet if you're barefoot.  Discolored linens. Hard uncomfortable bed.  A very creepy, dirty place. Stay away. Disgusting.

The Brompton's biggest assets are the moderate price and the location: near the museums, the Albert Hall, Knightsbridge (Harrods), a few steps away from South Kensington Underground Station and the best London ice cream on Bute Street. It has a nice old fashioned entrance, with check in one flight up. Everyone I interacted with was very nice. The rooms are small but clean and pleasant, with coffee maker, a fan, a little fridge, a safe. I stayed there twice.
Negatives: there is no elevator and some rooms require a lot of stair climbing. My first room was on the 5th floor, my second room was not that high up. It would not be a good choice for someone who finds stairs difficult.
