Booked for a convenient overnight stay when attending a concert in London.  I had reserved one of their larger rooms for a pre-paid rate of GBP125.  On arrival, I was told I'd been upgraded to their 'Club' rate which meant that all drinks where included as well as afternoon tea and coffee, a cheese and wine buffet as well as breakfast.

The room was really nice and modern - still not huge but very tastefully done.  The bathroom was a great surprise - very large with a big walk-in shower.

Breakfast was very good and taken on a shared table which I think works as long as you don't want privacy and not too many people turn up at the same time.  The food and juices on offer were excellent.

Last but not least, I left my iphone charger behind and when I called, I was told it had been found.  I have since been sent it, paying only the dispatch cost.

I can honestly recommend this hotel for a weekend stay in London.

Great Value

On line this looks like a quirky, boutique hotel and as I tend to stay in standard type hotels with work I prefer a smaller more intimate hotel when travelling for pleasure. As a celebration we decided on a junior suite, what a laugh that is in this hotel. The junior suite is basically a standard room with a (very) small ante room with a stool and a desk., literally nothing else.

The other surprise is the total lack of privacy in the bathrooms. I accept they are glass partitions and this is highlighted in the blurb, but nobody mentions the (very) wide gaps in the partitions that you can see right through.

The tea making facilities are on the bed side shelf so you can’t use one of them for anything else, who thought of that?

Overall a real disappointment for what is quite a lot of money. I’m going back to what I know!

Oh dear!

Very nice and helpful people at the reception and bar. Always clean room with comfy bed and new bathroom. Small but containing anything you could wish for.
Only minus point are paper walls as you hear every flushing or movement on the corridor (at least in our basement room). Nevertheless if you come after a day of sightseeing you sleep straight. Central location, free wine and cheese every evening - We were so positively surprised, thank you!
Next time we don’t search for another hotel. We come straight to you.

Great hotel, we will come again 

This was about my 10th stay in a club room (junior suite). The room was on the ground floor at the back and had a wonderful high ceiling. A very large comfortable bed and large tv screen with SKY. The place is very clean and the staff are very welcoming. Breakfast is served in a kitchen dining style room with a patio garden - lovely! If. The club rooms are further along the road from the main hotel, this is where you will receive a fully inclusive tariff, including breakfast, afternoon tea, salads to order and evening drinks from the bar. This hotel is my "go to" hotel in London. Ideal for visiting shows, museums and shopping, not to mention some amazing near by eateries.

Perfect again with lovely staff

Firstly, A little hard to find, no clear signs. we went to the address given and then we were told we had been upgraded so had to walk back up the road to a different address.
First impression was that it was spotless and smelt lovely. There wasn’t any obvious point to go to for help but we wandered into the kitchen at the rear where we were welcomed by a lovely young lady. Only 1 room was ready for us and as we were early didn’t mind. 
We were told that there was afternoon tea, cheese and wine, a sandwich, tea, coffee, wine or spirits- all complementary! 
We went to the room which had a huge bed, beautiful bathroom and a large TV. The room itself wasn’t huge and missed a comfy chair. 
We went back to the kitchen and asked for a sandwich, which was lovely - we also had a glass of wine. A few people appeared and had afternoon tea. It was like a casual entertaining kitchen with one large table in the centre which was quite lovely. 
My only criticism would be the noise and flashing smoke detector above my head! 
The room sounded like a fan was on all night, temperature control I think and every time someone flushed a toilet, water or showered the sound going through the walls was very loud. ( I was on the 3rd floor) breakfast was cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs, croissants, cereal, fruit, crumpets, toast, small muffins with bacon, juice, tea and coffee. Plenty of choice for everyone. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome.
About a 10 minute walk from Marylebone station with a high street 5 minutes walk for bars, cafes and restaurants. 


One night stay

One night business stay with time spent awake in room literally 20 minutes so key priorities comfy bed, hot shower and clean.  

But first, we tried to check in at the first door we found with Z Hotel on it. After 20 minutes of searching for our booking, the staff realised we were actually down the street - we didn't know there are 3 separate buildings. 

Anyway, once we'd sorted that out - scrupulously clean throughout, good bed, good bathroom, good linens, free cheese & wine and decent communal breakfast. Ideal. 

Very decent, if you can find it!

We have stayed at the Shoreditch Hotel and Gloucester Place further down the road but this was the first tine we stayed at 87. We were upgraded to a little g size room with large window, room was lovely, much more spacious than other rooms we have had. As all all our stays the hotel staff were lovely and one of the main selling points. We arrived after 9 so too late for the wine and cheese but as we were upgraded to club class this was still available to us. There is a lovely outdoor patio area with heaters and rugs, although it was too cold for this on the night we arrived. Stayed for breakfast which was really lovely, normally we never have time.
The 39 bus from outside the hotel took us to Kings Cross, perfect stay.

Loved it

Ultra central beautique hotel, less than 5 min from Oxford Street and unusually made up of various town houses along the road in a great safe area (your room would be say in no. 33, reception is in 51, breakfast in 87, etc.) Rooms not large but ultra modern and comfortable with lots tech like AC, smart tv, dimmer lights, glass bathroom with heated floor and large shower! Additionally, the lovely staff interact with guests on a very familiar and welcoming way, including free beverages from water to great wine, spirits and delicatessen nibbles available 24/7, all FREE. All products of great quality, but a relaxed` family around the table ambience`. Never had a hotel put 'it's money where it's mouth is' in such an effective loyalty-inducing way! Things to improve would be futile given all this awesomeness, what I can think is shaver power outlet & tissues in bathroom, and perhaps given the old style thick walls some rooms may have mobile reception trouble (but WiFi is free and ok!)

Unusual boutique hotel of great quality!

This was a great hotel! I absolutely loved the location. It was very close to the tube, bus, and several restaurants. In addition to that, the staff was very pleasant and always had a smile on their faces. It’s worth noting that breakfast was not included in the booking option we chose; it was for an additional cost. However, the complimentary evening cheese and wine made up for it. The cheese and wine selection was great and quite tasty. The next time I’m in London, I’ll definitely be returning to the Z Hotel. 

Loved the location, staff, and wine/cheese

We were at 87 Gloucester Place in a king club room with free breakfast drinks and snacks and cocktails it was absolutely great like staying in our own London Townhouse the staff were great particularly Paula with her innovative cocktails I recommend the Wahine, the breakfast was a buffet at a big shared table great to share your days experiences, same table there all day and evening for drinks and snacks. There is also a courtyard but a little chilly. My husband was ill for part of the stay and they did tea and toast any time and a simple chicken sandwich last night and made me a super salad as he was not well enough to eat out. Super place great fun we will be back Chris and Tom Cooper Wombourne Staffs
