I booked this trip and added ‘insurance’ onto the booking to ensure if anything went wrong I could get a full refund as I do on all my trips. I fell ill a few days before I was suppose to check in, I rang them and they wouldn’t let me cancel or change my booking, even though I’d paid for the insurance. When I called I received a very rude, unhelpful woman. Dont waste your money or time.

Do not waste your money

Booked to stay here months ago then they cancelled my booking a few days before we were due after claiming they couldn’t take payment from my card yet there was no problem with my card. Contacted hotel who fobbed me off then ignored my calls, leaving me no way to stay. Also ridiculous charge for checking in after 8.30pm!

Book at your own risk!

A friend (who lives abroad) and I were scheduled to stay at Earl's Court Studios towards the end of March, as we had a stand booked at a London fair. Owing to the onset of Covid-19 and lockdown, the fair was cancelled and fully refunded. My booked parking space was also then refunded although there was no obligation to do this. 

Our Earl's Court Studios reservation (booked nearly 3 weeks previously) was non-refundable, but as the nearly £600 had not yet been debited from my account I called them and explained the situation. I asked if the booking could be rescheduled in June, the date of our next fair, or if they could give us vouchers for a later date - even if the vouchers were only a certain percentage of the original cost. Earl's Court Studios said they would get back to me.

I then received an in-booking email stating that as the money had been debited there was nothing they could do. I checked my account and found the amount pending and immediately emailed back to say that this was not the case at the time I spoke to them. They replied that they were entitled to debit my account whenever they chose to do so. They also informed me that as my friend's country was not yet officially on lockdown, she could still come over and not lose her booking. This was so impractical as surely they realised that there was a good chance she would be stranded here away from her family and hemorrhaging money she couldn't afford to lose. In fact, lockdown occurred a few days later and this would have been the case if she had done this. In fact, after Earl's Court Studios initial reply, she seriously considered it, despite there being no fair and few clients around. She has called her airline, though, and despite the possibility of there being no refund, they nevertheless sent her vouchers for her trip to be used within a year. 

I then was given the manager's number and he said he would see what he could do and get back to me, which he didn't. I called him a number of times over the next few days and left messages. He eventually called me back saying he had dropped his phone and that he had dropped his phone and was having some problems with it, but it was working absinthe now. I explained to him yet again about our reservations and he said he would look into it and text me shortly. He later sent me a text (on the problem phone) containing a sad face emoji and saying No Refund owing to T&Cs. No mention of a voucher or offering to delay the booking, just basically a sad face emoji.

I very much regret having booked with this company owing to their unprofessional conduct. I'm particularly shocked that they falsely claimed the money had been deducted from my account and hence no refund when they clearly only initiated the process after I called them. As both my friend and I are self-employed, we are particularly grateful to the various businesses, both large and small, who, as a result of Covid-19, either refunded money or sent through vouchers to use their services at a later date. We will certainly go back to these companies and tell our friends and colleagues about them. Only Earl's Court Studios treated us with a lack of courtesy. We didn't even request a refund, only to reschedule days or some sort of voucher.

Unprofessional and untruthful

We had our booking declined the night before we were due to stay at Earls Court Studios.  They falsely said the reason was our credit card was invalid - it wasn’t. So we tried to call them to ask what was going on.  No reply.  We contacted Booking.com who did nothing.  So we had to find new accommodation in London with less than 14 hours till check-in.  We also had a future booking with this apartment who then charged our credit card - remember the one that didn’t work the first time!  Well it seemed to work fine for accommodation we didn’t now want with a untrustworthy operator.  Happy ending, we found much better accommodation and the bank will refund the false charges. Avoid this place!

Beware

Firstly, the good points: once we turned the heating up, the room was very warm and cosy.  It was incredibly clean and the fit out must have been almost brand new.  There was a good quality washing machine and drier in the basement and free clothes washing liquid. The room had everything we needed including for basic cooking (but only just - eg only two glasses, two plates, two towels etc).  The room (Room 3) is very quiet even though it is on a very busy road.  It is extremely close to Earls Court Station which gives you access to the Piccadilly Line giving you access to most of London’s major tourist attractions.  There is a Sainsbury’s to buy groceries almost straight over the road. 

The not so good points - You need to book an exact time of arrival as there is no reception and they don’t seem to even live in the building.  Also, they have recently moved. This was in the email they sent me but I used Google maps instead - my mistake.  This resulted in a long walk with our luggage to an empty (and completely gutted) building with Earls Court Studios on the door - cue moderate panic that we had been scammed!  Once I read the email and dragged our luggage all the way back, we were strangely met on the street by a person who spoke no English.  There is no signage on the door at all. She let us in, but was unable to answer any questions such as how we check out.  The room is completely unserviced (we stayed 4 nights).  The room has almost no natural light, only a window looking to the side of the building which is only 50cm away.  The room is incredibly tiny.  If you are not a small and/or thin person, you will really have trouble sitting on the toilet and getting into the shower and showering. It is almost impossible to brush your teeth or shave in the tiny bathroom sink (and definitely not if the door is shut or your bottom hits the door when you bend over).  The Microwave sits on the kitchen bench, but there is no power point, and you have to carry it to the tiny dining table to plug it in and use it.  Then you don’t have a table any more!  The hallways smelled strangely of a toilet, but the room was fine.  

Overall, if you want cooking facilities on a budget in this area, this is a decent choice.  If you want comfort, look elsewhere and you will find high quality motels nearby for the same price! 
 


Takes tiny to a whole new level!

This best thing the place had going for it was the location. In the middle of Earl’s Court and just around the corner from the southern entrance to the Earl’s Court Tube Station. The northern entrance is surrounded with cafes and pubs, and even a TARDIS! (if you don’t know what that is, go ask your nerd friends). But it’s a little difficult to rate it because of some issues.

The room was tiny. The twin bed had about a foot of space surrounding it and that’s it. The sheets looked clean, and I always appreciate hotels with hard floors. There was a kitchenette but I didn’t not use it except for the always appreciated mini fridge. The bathroom was ok but the shower stall was about the size of a coffin, your knees bump up against the wall if you sit on the toilet, and there was quite a bit of mold and mildew.
The wifi also went in and out was a little slow.
I booked directly with the hotel online (because you should always do that), but the charge was for just the first night. The rest was payable when I checked in, but they were not able to take my American credit card. Luckily, I have a Paypal account and I just sent the rest of the bill to the hotel through their email. The staffer who assisted with me was very patient and the process turned out for the best. 

My standards are not that high, so I feel everywhere else in the neighborhood was too pricey. The room was adequate for the short stay I had, but I might look into the larger rooms this place offers for longer stays.

Amazing location / teeny, tiny room

Very conveniently located, literally across the street from the Underground. 
Our room was in the basement and very, VERY small. So small that the bed was against the wall, only 1 side to crawl into the bed, and the tv was NEXT to the bed! Shower cubicle was so small you cannot avoid getting your hair wet (no shower caps provided to help here!) and since it was a raindrop shower, it could not be adjusted. 
The last night we were woken by the fire alarm which was false luckily, but the owner could not figure out how to silence the alarm..... 🙁 no sleep! That same morning there was no hot water, no apologies upon check out either.....

Very small, no hot water on last day

We just completed a London trip, staying here for just over a week. It's certainly not a luxury hotel, but it's clean and conveniently located. There were plenty of convenience stores and restaurants near the tube station, which was right around the corner.

The hotel is NOT obvious. We arrived after dark, and if I hadn't had my GPS, I might not have found it. There's simply a circular sign (~18 inches across) on the building just to the left of the door.

I think the hotel has 18 rooms. We were in 17, a triple, up on the 4th floor (54 steps up from ground) We were staying in mid-June, and the room was always comfortably warm. With the windows open, there was a decent breeze. The room included an en suite, stove, mini-fridge, dish sink, and a small assortment of kitchen dishes and cooking utensils. 

The stairway up to the room was narrow and fairly steep. It definitely felt like something out of a TV show set in London. So, that certainly felt authentic. A few of the stairs had a bit of wobble, though. That might be dangerous for people who aren't terribly sure footed. There was no lift, so doing the stairs everyday also added to the daily exercise.

The shower was quite small, and had two dispensers - one for shower gel the other shampoo. (These were the only toiletries provided.) In the cramped quarters, I often elbowed the dispensers, knocking the lid off. The water temperature also fluctuated quite a bit. I'm not sure if that's unique to this hotel or a common London phenomenon. (Going from near scalding to near freezing within seconds.) Towels were large and comfortable.

The toilet had a bit of a wobble. There was no toilet paper dispenser. When we needed more, there was a stash of it on the first floor landing where we could help ourselves. 

The windows had no screens (apparently those are rare in London). However, we had no problems with anything flying in through the windows. 

The full sized bed was quite nice. The twin was roughly as hard as a rock. The only bed sheets were the fitted sheet and a down-filled comforter. We used a spare towels as regular sheets, as it was far too warm for the down comforter at night.

The room had no air conditioning, which meant leaving the windows open. The streets here were busy at all hours, so we definitely heard the sounds of London all through the night. Once we were used to it, this was a nice white noise, but there were occasional ambulance sirens. 

Made service was every third day. This was fine, but less often than I expected. They did a thorough job of cleaning the room. 

When we went to check out (around 7AM), there was no one at the desk. No one responded to the buzzer or to a text sent at the time. Our room was pre-payed, so I just left the key and sent a text and e-mail saying we were doing so. We received an e-mail thanking us for our stay several hours later.

Great location, clean, adequate room

The only positive thing about the place is its vicinity to the tube station. If that's very important for you, it might be a place to stay.
Apart from this, there is nothing else positive about the place. If you have a tight budget, you may be able to find better places with the same budget or much better if you shell out slightly more. 
There is no sense of customer service. The person (Damir) who runs the show is pretty rude. The internet doesn't work properly. The heater doesn't work properly. There is no lift. Sheets are not changed regularly and no cleaning for that matter. No other requests are taken care of. No lobby to sit and relax. The floors and roofs sound creaking voices when some one walks around and can wake you up in the night. This is to say the least. 
If you are really looking for a budget place, this is amongst the worst of them. Pls avoid this for sure.

Terrible Place: Don't even think of staying here!

Great location. Warm comfortable clean apartment. Great WiFi. Lovely welcome from staff. Great communication. Highly recommend as so very close to the tube station. Very close to pubs and restaurants. Quiet at night time. Great for short stays!
