Ignore all the old reviews found here, this pub has been completely revitalised, restored and improved under new management. Very friendly staff, great beers, this is now a fantastic place to get a pint.

Great pub under new management

For most Charlton and Woolwich locals this was once a place that we crossed the road to avoid so it is a pleasant surprise that it has been totally revamped and is now in new hands with a management very far removed from its EDL past. The place has been scrubbed clean, redesigned and made to feel like somewhere that wants to be a real part of the community. If I were the owner, to be honest, I would suggest these past reviews are removed because they give a totally false impression of what this place is like now. Growing selection of drinks, a decent menu including Sunday roasts and very friendly, young staff. I stumbled upon it by accident but will definitely be going back again regularly when lockdown is over.

NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT AND A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE

I booked here recently as it recently it looked like it had been refurbished.  Its a great location for me to stay while working in london.  I am glad i did as the apartment was great!  Bright , Clean and the bed was really comfortable - also had free wifi! ))

I enjoyed my stay here.  Good casual atmosphere in the pub. Cheap drinks, good fun.

Convenient location for the O2 and into Central London. It's not the Ritz but an easy, comfy place to get your head down for the night. 

Good value for money

Arrived to be told that they had cancelled our booking. Spoke to the owner on their phone who said she would find an alternative and phone us back. Left waiting but no call materialised. Cheap freaky dosshouse. 
You deserve better whoever you are

Without a doubt the WORST place I have ever stayed. After checking in at the bar (where people were smoking). I went to my room which was dirty. The tv didn’t work. The windows didn’t shut properly (this was opposite the busy road) and outside my window was converted with cigarette ends. The shower was also filled with black bin bags. I asked the bar man where was a nice place to go for a drink (I didn’t want to drink there) to which I had a reply from a customer saying ‘don’t go to Wetherspoons as it’s full of poofs in there and you’ll have to stand with your back against the wall’. As a gay man I found this incredibly offensive and didn’t feel comfortable at all. When I got back that night, I made my way through the bar to which a group of people started shouting at me asking where my key is!? I said in my pocket and they said no your other one. I told them I hadn’t been given another one but later found out I should’ve been given a key to let myself in round the back. As I walked away I heard sniggering and comments about me wearing a suit. I mentioned this to the lady who appeared to be running it (I still have the conversation recorded) and she apologised for her ‘sons’ behaviour. I did not feel safe or comfortable at all in this dive. I paid £60 for this! Since then I have found somewhere else for the same price which is 110% better and nicer. The lack of professionalism in this place is shocking. Avoid at all costs! 

AVOID! 

Everything the bad reviews say and worse, horrible place. Apparently  they don't supply towels usually....no wonder ours got looked for and handed to us across the bar. Shower (shared horrible dirty 'bathroom')   didn't work properly, too hot to get into and no way  to cool down...was told there was one on another floor we could use (but there was a sign saying don't use the shower on the next floor).  Payment up front and, as it says on several posters around the place, no refunds. On wall it says £50 a twin room, we paid £75 via booking.com, how stupid are we?! Said hot breakfast to 8.30am but turned up at 8.10 to be met with mopping floor and ok we got breakfast but they actually stop cooking at 8.15am. We got an ok breakfast but don't expect full English.  The breakfast  room  is frankly horrible. TV in our room wasn't connected, don't know if the fridge worked...it was the only other thing in the room apart from the dreadful beds and a bedside cabinet (but as others say, nothing else in room, not even a coat hook).  This place is a dive, if you are going to the O2 you can walk from it, which is why we stayed there, but frankly there is a tube at O2 so stay elsewhere.
