We have been back at Honister House yet again. The best thing to say is: go and stay there yourself and you'll see how good it is. Carol and Ged are wonderful hosts and we doubt you could fine a better place to stay in Keswick (and we have stayed in other places),

Went for a weekend away with my girlfriend for our anniversary, it can sometimes be an issue trying to find a queer-friendly place to stay but Carol & Ged were lovely and incredibly welcoming. Carol went out of her way to make us a huge vegan breakfast each morning (think full english, cereal, yoghurt & fresh fruit, and muffins!), along with delicious home baked goodies that she left in our room for us - exactly what we needed after a long day walking! She also gave us some great tips on places to eat, walking routes, and things to do in Keswick. The b&b itself is located right in town and just up the road from the lake, the room was clean and incredibly comfortable, and we had a perfect weekend! Would 100% recommend and we'll definitely be visiting again!

Very friendly & accommodating

We visited for the Keswick Film Festival. Ged and Carol's extensive, delicious breakfast set us up nicely for the weekend's screenings, and our room proved a cosy retreat from the February wind and rain.  We had a stylish and scrupulously clean en suite bathroom, a comfortable bed and tea and coffee tray refreshed daily with home made cakes,and our hosts couldn't have made us more welcome if they'd tried. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Keswick but Honister House.

Perfect pit stop

We stayed for two nights in February and had a wonderful time, could easily have stayed here longer. Location is perfect; only a couple of minutes walk from the restaurants and pubs in the centre but still quiet at night, then only 10 mins walk down to the lake. Free parking provided by a permit for the central car park (again, only 2 mins walk) which was ideal. We only met Carol but she was really friendly and welcoming, with loads of info & recommendations on the local area available too. The home-cooked breakfast each morning was fantastic too and home-baked treats left in our room in the afternoon were a really nice touch! The room itself was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with an excellent bed and shower.

Fantastic little B&B!

We have just got back from a weekend in Keswick. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, will go above and beyond for you. Room was fantastic with a very spacious soft bed and the shower was amazing, breakfast was delicious.

When we arrived Carol met us at the car park with a permit so you don't have to pay as it is a public car park, she walked us up to the b&b which was a 2 minute walk.

In our room they had left home made ginger cake, and the next day when we got back from walking around Derwent Lake there was a small bag hung on the door with top ups of milk/tea bags and also home made cookies! 

The b&b is right in the town very close to all the shops and pubs, quiet at night if your worried about any noise. 

I recommend this place to anyone thinking about visiting keswick.

We returned for another stay at Honister House. We are running out of superlatives. It is such a treat to stay there with the most friendly and welcoming hosts you could wish for, comfortable rooms and amazing breakfasts. And then there's the daily tasty treats that get left in your room.Thank you yet again Carol and Ged.
