Just back from an amazing weekend. Booked through Samantha's staycation and had a two night stay at woodlakes in a 4 man lodge with a hot tub. Our full family came so we had a few lodges across the site. 
Our lodge was absolutely stunning and Lisa the manger even set us up with a put up bed as our teenage son decided he was coming too. 
The enchanted forest was absolutely amazing! Greeted by the most amazing Santa that really kept the night so fun and the atmosphere amazing. There was the Grinch that the kids loved! And special thanks to the amazing Batman! Our party consisted of 9 children ranging from 1 year to a nearly 17 year old. Batman absolutely made the boys laugh so much! He was so good with them and such a lovely man. The log burner and our own private hut in the wood allowed us to toast marshmallows which the kids and all adults loved! It was such a lovely Christmassy experience and Lisa could not have made it better than what it was. 
Most times when you go away it's nice to come home but actually today we all really wanted to stay so badly! Amazing amazing amazing weekend which will forever hold special memories so thank you to woodlakes park, Lisa and her amazing team especially Batman and the belly laughing Santa ! 


Family 

This really is a great venue for a fishing break. The lakes are all completely different and allowed me to switch from targeting the larger Carp on the Cabin lake to keeping the kids entertained catching small carp and silvers on Split lake. I will be looking to book again but for longer next time to give me chance to explore the stunning Championship lake that hold some stunning fish from the photo board I saw in the tackle shop.

A variety of lakes to cater for all capabilities 

The lodge was clean and well equipped. The site itself was also clean with staff coming round every morning to empty bins. The site itself was simply wonderful with lots to do. Perfect family break which included fishing, relaxing in the hot tub, dining at Jack’s and walking the dog. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect family break!

After trawling the internet for a cabin with hot tub this popped up. Ok we thought we was getting the larger pod (1 or 2) as that was what it was advertised as with the other pods mixed in but hey, it’s a break away. 
Small but cozy is all your need, clean and hot tub was great for relaxing. No internet on phone so even Better to shut the world out. 
Great restaurant on site jacks at Woodlakes is a gem. 
Didn’t see any staff the whole stay but to be honest we didn’t really need to speak to anyone to be fair. All communication was done via WhatsApp.

Asked if we could check in early and we was allowed and keys and cards left for us in cabin. 

Bad points 
Bed is a little thin mattress with coil springs, back felt every coil. 
No curtains to close on side windows so lights from outside steam through. BUT we made a little curtain out of Towels for night times. 
No welcome pack so we had no idea what to do with regards electoral cards and key on departure. 

Would we stay again!!! YES!!! 

Yes we would and we had a little walk around to see which ones we would stay in next time. I would go for a bigger pod or cabin. 

Recommend if you want a quite, no phone signal, quiet, relaxing weekend away.

Quiet, cozy and lovely stay….

We really enjoyed at our stay at Woodlakes Park, from the moment we arrived the staff at reception were helpful and informative. The cabin we stayed in was lovely and warm and overlooked the lake, so we had a good view of the local wildlife. There was enough home ware for the three of us and the kitchen was nice and tidy. We had heaters on nearly constantly and only used about £15 of electricity in our 3 night stay. We would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone, not just those that like to fish.

After Christmas break

we visited the enchanted woods . where they had little pods for each family to sit in . there was log fires to toast marshmallows.  hot chocolate with marshmallows.  and then to visit the wonderful father christmas.. 
the lakeside cabin was perfect.  lovely and  warm . as it was freezing outside.   it was lovely and clean it had 2 bedrooms.  and enough distance from the other cabins. it also had its own private  fishing decking . 
we then finished the evening off by eating in jacks restaurant  that was lovely. and also looking forward to the new Asian restaurant that will be on site .. 
we would definitely stay again...

lovely stay ..

Absolutely amazing restaurant.  Throughout my life I have been to many, many restaurants but I have never been made to feel so welcome as I did here. Jack was the best host ever and could not have done enough for us. I phoned up as a last minute (3 hours before) booking for my husband's birthday and only by chance just mentioned on the phone it was his birthday, whilst yacking on. 
Anyway.....when we arrived they had put us in one of their lovely booths with a beautiful view, put balloons up, a birthday banner, party hats and party poppers! Oh my goodness, it was amazing! They went above and beyond to look after us all and even brought my husband a little dessert out (with he hadn't ordered because he was full) with a candle, and made the restaurant sing to him. 
The food was just amazing and the service absolutely impeccable!!! 
Jack's is out of this world for friendliness, service, food, atmosphere and location. Well worth a visit! They even have a loyalty card!!! 
Thanks so much if any of them are reading this. We will definitely be coming back.

Out of this World

We stayed in lodge 23 on two poles lake it was a fantastic break love clean lodge and the fishing peg right outside the patio/deckin it's a great pond to fish with a great range of fish had a few nice carp and some cracking bream. The food in the restaurant on site is really nice and not to pricey worth a visit.Can't wait to come back hopefully try the kabin lake next time.

Brilliant fishing trip

Had our anniversary meal at Jacks and they couldn’t be more accommodating! Such a lovely place and the staff are so friendly! Our waiter was Ibi and he was so attentive and helpful. Food is 10/10! Would definitely go back again  and again!

What more of a challenge could you ask of a restaurant, It's bank holiday Monday and around 1pm and we need wheelchair access! the place was buzzing and we booked a table for 2 the waiter was experienced to the point that I thought he was management, the food came quickly and was hot. My only complaint was the ribs which at £15 were to cheap ;-)  - these weren't the normal  rack that pop out of a microwaved plastic bag but huge and tasty. Jack's will go on our very small list of where to take friends
