A Great clean room, and good pub food, very friendly staff, and a very good breakfast 
All food was hot and tasty and a comfortable bed to sleep in at night. Nice views from the room looking up to Boulby cliffs, and a view of the sea, what more do you need form a weekend away and was good value for money

Weekend catch up

Stayed four nights over New Year.A comfortable place to spend a few day, food good, staff friendly,  rooms well laid out and clean, and some decent ale all the bar.Good location, and  a five minute walk from the us stops.

A pleasant few days in Staithes.

Met by a welcoming friendly young girl. 
Meal served in the bar, lasagna was a big potion served with chips and side salad. Drinks with our meal were served at our table. 
Our room was tastefully decorated, clean and although small it was adequate for our overnight stay. 
I would recommend and stay again

Lovely small pub and hotel

Lovely warm and welcoming place, we ate there one evening and can thoroughly recommend the steak pie and chips, had the real ale Anna the hand pull cider and it was a very good pint , bit of a walk up the hill but it’s definitely worth it, dogs are welcome too

We have been to Staithes for the past 4 years and had never tried The Captain Cook Inn. What a mistake that has been. The welcome when you arrive is excellent,  the bar staff are so friendly and the food is the best in the village.  
We had a gorgeous Sunday lunch and then went again during the week. Please make the effort and go up the hill to support this inn as it is well worth it. 

Excellent food and staff

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay here with our puppy. The room was clean and well equipped. Really good value for money with breakfast included in the price. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return next year. 

Wonderful stay

We only stayed one night in this Hotel/Inn, we had been walking the Cleveland Way and the place is just up the hill.

  We were welcome by staff who showed us the the room, it was clean and well kept, this is an Inn rather than a posh hotel, we felt bit guilty as the carpet was cream, so boots came off, had we know boots of earlier. 

  In the room,  it was well stocked with teas, coffees, sugars, milks,  kettle, mugs, biscuits, towels, soaps, etc.

  In the evening downstairs we had food and beer, the meals were hearty and beer nice all very reasonably priced.  

Breakfast was cooked and again pleasant.   As said this is homely Hotel more Inn so more down to earth feel idea for walking

Homely Inn

Stayed for 2 nights ! Walked into a lovely busy pub! Lots a people eating and having a laugh. So we knew we booked  the best place to stay ! 
Lovely girl behind the bar for our check in ! Went up to our room , which blow me away for the price , it was massive , lovely big window with a fantastic view , comfortable bed and big bathroom! 
Enjoyed ever bit of our stay with you all ! Fantastic food and staff ! Lovely to meet Heath and thank you for the CD my husband loves it :) thank you all we will be back

Great place

My husband and I are back home after a couple of days to Staithes staying at the Captain Cook Inn celebrating our anniversary. From arriving to leaving we met lovely, friendly, helpful staff who gave us a warm welcome (Courtney to name but one and I'm sorry we didn't get the name of others as they are all an asset to the Captain Cook). Our room was large, very clean and had a lovely view over the hills and down towards the harbour. Plenty of tea/coffee making items, including decaff'. We had breakfast there both days and what a breakfast, plently of choice and it filled us for the day. As for the evening meals, we were impressed with the portion sizes, quality, presentation and prices. The chef/s are to be recommended. What a gem of a hotel in Staithes. We will stay here again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It is dog friendly too.

Enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at the Captain Cook..Everything about the place is great.the rooms are spacious with really nice decor .the staff very friendly and helpful.a good choice of food ...the meals we had on an evening were tasty and huge portions and to start the day off a lovely breakfast...full marks to the Captain Cook...we will return !
