This hotel is always cozy and affordable.  Sammy is a great host and will ensure that your stay is memorable and enjoyable.  The rooms are clean and it's a convenient location (right next to the Huddle House restaurant).

Great hotel

If you are training at GTI, this is the best place to stay in Barnwell.  It is under 15 mins to GTI.  There are multiple restaurants near by.  I strongly suggest Yanni"s.  Good subs, calzones, and pizza.  And there is WalMart close to the Carolina Lodge.  Owner is very friendly and accommodating.  Nice renovations to the rooms.  Beds are comfortable.  

Been there the last four year and will return next year.

I'm giving this a 5 stars, because it did the best it possibly could with what it had. The man running the front desk was very friendly, and hotel staff were as well. The place was as clean as it's gonna be for the area, with some minor damages in the bathroom (which had good water pressure and heat). 

But yeesh... town's economy doesn't look too great right now.

Owners are very helpful and friendly.  Rooms are recently refreshed and clean.  Will definitely stay there again.  Close to many restaurants and Wal-Mart.  Great place to stay if you are doing any training at GTI.  

Stayed there the last 5 years

This hotel is the best hotel location-wise if you're visiting Barnwell SC. My room had some minor but notable issues. I didn't discover any gross bugs or odd messes anywhere, and the bedding was clean and smelled great. My main complaint is that there was a ton of dust and crud on the furniture, including the bathroom sink and toilet. It's not a big deal, but clearly someone either skipped that part of cleaning, or the room hadn't been used in a while. Also, the pipe underneath the sink is leaking, and there was already a large bucket underneath to collect whatever came out. That definitely needs fixing.

Thankfully, I barely needed my room except to sleep, so for a one-man gig, it will work just fine. If the sheets or pillows were dirty, then there'd be a problem, but they weren't. Sleeping was awesome, and I can definitely see myself getting a room here again.

Definitely worked for me.

We were just looking to get away from everything for a couple days without a lot of expense. Older building but well maintained (freshly painted and room was clean) and very pleasant staff!  We would stay there again. 

Very Pleasant stay

This budget motel was a good find!  The rooms were spacious and clean.  They were long stay friendly, with all rooms having a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and plenty of storage.  The room had a nice writing desk, side tables, good WiFi and plenty of places to charge up.  

Breakfast was included that is what I would describe as continental plus - making this place a very good buy.  The pancake machine was a welcome new sight that was as tasty as it was interesting.  Everything was clean and efficient.  This place takes a lot of pride in its appearance and has done quite a bit of work on fixing things.  Good Value!  

Great Quality Stay!!

Stayed here for a few nights. Rooms were pleasant and clean. Beds were very comfortable. There was an issue with our room key and the tv but both things were immediately addressed and taken care of. Staff is nice and respectful. Would stay here again.

Clean and Quiet

Next door is a field where can run dogs and across (somewhat busy) street there is a Bank w large green space and a rather empty strip mall to walk dogs. Also there are sidewalks. Recommend hotel side away from greasy smelling Huddle House. Towels very small. Have electronic keys so dead lock doesn't work anymore which I didn't like if I didnt have dogs to protect me. Sheets and comforters seemed clean and fridge was nice size and TV had good channels. Lighting tends to be on the dark side. They didn't try and up-charge me. Several close fast food options.

Not bad for the price but upgrades had shoddy workmanship.

The rooms have been recently remodeled amd look nice. Floors need to be swept and mopped but otherwise pretty good place to stay. Theres not much in Barnwell and the burger king next door is terrible so avoid it at all costs
