After reading reviews for this hotel, I was kind of worried about staying here. My boyfriend & I stayed one night, as it was a last minute decision. The bed was pretty comfy but the pillows could have been a bit better. The man at the check in counter was very nice & got us into our room quickly. The bathrooms seem to have been just remodeled. For a quick last minute stay, this hotel is an okay stop. Parking could be a bit better though.

Probably not a good idea to stay at this establishment.  The room looked like a war zone.  No outlets to utilize the door handle was broken so I had to lift up before using the key card or I could not get in.  I figured it is under renovation but from the sound of things it has been under renovation for a long time.

Ok so Im staying here overnight and after reading the review Im thinking it cant be that that bad. When its close. First thing i noticed is the smoke and noise. And its true some people are long term residents here. Well check in went well so now to the room. Not the best but it will do. Really no view of the river. Kids running the halls were annoying. So told evening there was a knock at the door. It was a toothless woman asking me if i needed company. Oh no thanks. She had a surprised look saying "you sure??" yes i am. Then i come to find out there are more then one toothless ladies who work this motel. One of the men staying here told me there called "claymonsters" i guess because this motel is in Claymont Delaware. He said oh there harmless. Well i declined that. I notice most people staying here have moderate tooth lose. Im guessing theres not a dentist in the area. Most folks wander area with there natural ice beer cans in hand and cigarette in mouth. What a sight. Would i stay here again?? Probably.  The locals are nice enough just a bit different.

Is there no dentist offices in Claymont?.

I can't believe Wyndham has their name backing this place! It looks fine on the outside but when you walk in the hallways re dark and smell of smoke. The check-in desk is behind bullet proof glass. When I walked to my room within minutes, I was followed by a man wanting to know if I had a boyfriend. I had to return to the front desk in order to feel safe. Once I went into my room I discovered the bed spread was full of holes along with the curtains and also the bed sheets. The bed sheets were dingy too. Hallway noise easily traveled into my room keeping me awake most of the night. Fortunately, I only had to stay one night! DO NOT STAY HERE. Wyndham should be ashamed!

Horrible! Disgusting! Nasty!

I made a colossal mistake, folks. I figured staying here would take it easy on my per diem and help me save some tax-free cash. Not worth it.

I've stayed in Ritz Carltons, Four Seasons, and a host of other $500+/night hotels. 
I have also stayed in places where they had no cockroaches. Not because they were clean with a great maintenance staff, but because even cockroaches have standards.

This place had no cockroaches (that I know of) but it just felt...dirty. The walls were not painted, gouges everywhere, and the most modern piece of furniture? The sink cabinet-thing in the bathroom. 

The night stand drawer looked like a goat exploded in there and the bed was manufactured -I suspect- sometime during the Roosevelt administration.  The TEDDY Roosevelt administration. 

A framed mirror was on the floor, leaning against the wall. Great for leprechauns and gremlins on-the-go, but I'm 6'3"...

Another odd thing...I'm convinced the building was a former nursing home, small hospital, or -more likely- a mental health facility. The hallways were twice as wide as you normally see in a motel and it had that creepy echo thing going on. I half expected Michael from the Halloween franchise to make an appearance.

I spent a grand total of 2 nights there; mostly because I was too tired after a 12 hour shift to change hotels. Just do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere...
