We stopped off for the night on our road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Located just off the highway, the Bayside Inn was a good base to explore the local area from - just under a 10 minute drive to downtown Monterey.

Our room had two large beds and was spacious for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It was well equipped and basic toiletries were provided. A continental breakfast was served in the reception area with plenty of seating available outside.

Check in and check out was very smooth and staff were helpful. We would definitely stay here again. 

Comfortable overnight stay 

We stayed at the Bayside Inn for one night. Just to go whale watching.  Denise was very accommodating.  We arrived really late but she was very accommodating, leaving us the key and checking in on us when we arrived, despite it being very late.  Our room was quaint with everything we need and even some nice touches in the bathroom.  Bathroom was huge and bedroom was clean, comfortable, quiet and cozy.  Breakfast was perfect.  Location was excellent, close to highway and to head out for the whale watching.  I would highly recommend this B & B.  Cost was reasonable.  The B & B was right across the water so we had a wonderful view from the room. I have already recommended it to friends and they are heading there in 2 weeks!

Wonderful B & B in Digby Nova Scotia

Very nice room and great value. Clean, large and comfortable. Read other reviews and couldn't understand what they were saying. Close to HYW 1 and attractions. Would recommend Everytime. Nice staff and informative.

We wanted a budget room, no frills, so we could enjoy the wildlife of Monterey bay....and this is exactly what Bayside is. The room was absolutely fine - comfy bed, clean shower and even a fridge and microwave. 
We drove which was no issue as we just hopped in the car to go places, but if you don't have your own vehicle this would be a bit far out for you. 
The walls are a little thin, so we could hear nextdoor's TV, but that didn't cause us an issue, maybe if you were a light sleeper this would be a problem for you. 
Overall if you want to save money on the accommodation to enjoy the area this would be perfect. 
Oh and one last point - no breakfast being offered at the moment so bear that in mind. 

Perfect budget room if it's no frills you want!

Arrived late disappointed with the decor will past it. The trip to reception for Breakfast was even more disappointment probably worst breakfast so far Cereals  two types of Cup Cakes,Coffee,Squash or yogurt very disappointing.

Needs renovation

My husband and I stayed here overnight during our visit of the California coast. Our room was extremely small and very dated. The air conditioning was very average, but also sounded like an car engine as it turned itself on and off throughout the night. Our biggest disappointment was that we requested a non-smoking room (this was received), however the placement of this room was at the back of the facility with the outside smoking area directly outside our window. This meant people talking outside our room until past midnight and the outdoor light streaming underneath our window blinds. Considering the room cost USD $166 and we only needed it as a place to get a good nights sleep, it was extremely disappointing. 
Two positives; the room was clean and in a good location, close to bus stops.

Disappointing & not well though out

Animals were running around over the night on the top of the ceiling and we could not sleep well. The outdated furniture in this motel. The front desk staffs are friendly but the breakfast is very basic

Horrible smell, atrocious outdated beds. My wife wasn't able to breathe in the room so we had to go elsewhere and we were not refunded. Don't wast your time. We lost over $200 because of this. Would be fine if you were a crackhead or alone but seriously it was jaw droppingly bad.

Avoid at all costs.

This property should be condemned. The only power in our room was a power strip under the bed, if you moved wrong, all the power went out. Moldy bathroom, filthy bedding, there's a 1/2 gap between the door and frame and it's a party hotel if the noise we heard Saturday nite was any indication, or maybe a woman was in pain. Awful, Don't' condsider it.

Terrible, stay far far away

The room smelled like cat pee and body odor due to the wet moldy carpet.  My husband and I were the only car there when we checked in  and asked if we could change rooms but were given a room freshener instead.  We thought maybe the smell would get better with the windows and door open but it did not.  We told the front desk about the carpet and they said they knew about it already. We ended up leaving the next day and were still charged for 2 nights.  NEVER AGAIN.  My husband called the front desk after we left and asked for a refund for Sunday since we left early and he was hung up on and we were never refunded our money.   Horrible customer service !!!
