Just got back from the Tuscan on a weekend anniversary trip and loved this place.
This is a beautiful place, yes it’s old but is upgraded and maintained well.
 The pool and spas are great and relaxing and since this is a smaller hotel it’s not crowded what so ever. Free daybeds and plenty of lounges and tables, they are everywhere.
Breakfast was good we like the Avacado and bagels and hard boiled eggs.
Beds and pillows are very comfortable.
Rooms are nice. Loved the nice robes. 
Staff was kind and attentive we plan on going back next anniversary.

Great anniversary trip

We treat ourselves to an overnight or two at Tuscan Springs every few years. It's pricey for us, but worth it. In a city full of hot mineral spas it's the right level of high-end yet not pretentious  - with some little things needing attention here and there, for sure... but just like in Italy, there is zero rush on fixing it because the main soul of the place is firmly intact.

Here's the thing, the entire city of Desert Hot Springs itself has seen better days and seems in a rut of blight. Usually we travel to fully experience a region, but with Tuscan Springs we simply arrive there and stay the entire time. Soooooooo relaxing. 

Once you check in, you're set. No kids, no overarching rules, no staff eyeing you warily  - you can take a dip at 2:00 AM under the stars or sleep on a day bed all day long and smell the aromas, nobody cares. While other high-end spas in town are very mid-century modern with music piped in all the time, Tuscan Springs is peace and quiet, gorgeous mountain views and multiple private courtyards, and then cozy beds and mini kitchenettes in room. One giant warm mineral swimming pool, one mineral small hot tub and one giant semi-indoor mineral hot tub - sublime. 

Not inexpensive, they also offer an affordable day pass to the pools from 11 to 5 or 6 each day. If your goal is simply full-on peace and quiet and relaxation with no one bothering you with pesky schedules and rules, this is the place. 

Supreme Adult Relaxation - Views - Worth It

This place hit all the right notes and I can't say enough good things about it! It is well cared for in terms of maintenance and no detail is missed. It's clear the owners love this place and have put years of care and creativity into it. It's basically an Italian Villa complete with three mineral pools: cool(ish), warm, and hot. The pool area has plenty of room and a variety of soft surfaces to relax on in sun or shade. The breakfast room is pure charm and you have two large gardens to choose from as you eat. The bed was super soft and the room spacious. Whether or not you like kids, you'll appreciate the quiet of a kid free resort. The pool area is open 24 hours if you like an evening dip (we did). Grocery stores are nearby to keep you fed as you use your room's kitchenette. I was traveling for work so chose the location so my girlfriend would have a great place to lounge during the day. I checked the couple box though because it felt like a vacation the moment I got back. Though we didn't use the spa services, we could see into those spaces and they looked really wonderful. Smelled good, too!

This is the couples retreat you're looking for.

Our 3 day stay was very relaxing.  The room was large and had a small kitchenette.  Healthy breakfasts are served.  The 3 mineral spas are different temps, and 2 have jets, while 1 is swimmable. The couple's massage was wonderful and healing.

Wonderful Adult Spa

We just returned from a three night stay at Tuscan Springs Hotel. This is not a big time resort but a family run small hotel and they do not promote themselves as anything but that, so if you are looking for luxury, this is not your spot.  If you are looking for small, quiet, and relaxing - read on!  This was a first time for us with mineral pools and we really did enjoy the three pools.  The temperatures were perfect in each one - the large pool being the coolest and the other two with the jets were hot and hotter.  We used all three every day and they are open 24 hours - this is not a party spot and it's adults only, so everyone we encountered at all hours was very quiet and respectful of the "relax mode".  I must say these were the cleanest hotel pools I have ever been in.  The water is crystal clear and the tile was quite well kept and lovely.  The entire pool deck area is full of chairs and loungers and tables and wonderful king size cabana type beds.  There is a pleasant view of the mountains, although the telephone wires are there which is a tad bit of a bummer.  The wind blows up the hill that this spa is perched on which is most welcome when it's over 100 degrees!  There are three main courtyards including the pool area and they are all full of flowers, cactus, and unique decor.  The two courtyards by the rooms have fireplaces that we gathered around in the evening and chatted with other guests, bring your own wine and wine glasses and it's truly wonderful.  Morning dining can be done in any of the courtyards or taken back to your room.  

The rooms are nice but not extravagant.   The water temp and pressure is very good in the bathroom.  The shower/tub was quite nice and had a very good but attractive grab bar if you need it - and is perfect for hanging your wet swimwear on.  AC and ceiling fan make it comfortable for sleeping.  Wifi was adequate as we both had some work to do.  Mini fridge and microwave in each room.  TV was cable only - not smart TV.  Daily maid service - fresh towels and super plush robes.  The end units have large very private patios, that don't have much view, but are perfectly shaded for an afternoon nap.  King size beds are comfortable with nice sheets and European style comforter in a duvet.

The breakfast was nice - make it yourself waffles, several baked goods (just average grocery store quality), fruits, avocados, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cereal, milk, OJ, french press coffee or coffee maker if you prefer.  Ice machine and water, along with coffee are available all day and night.

We did not use the spa services - but I got envious as people returned to the pool area from their treatments and every single person was raving about it!

Overall facility - it's charming, kitschy, unique, and a tad bit run down.  I feel like it is so much work to maintain a property like this and the weather of the desert is so hard on everything.  Cushions are faded, wood shade covers some need a redo, columns were never painted, fountain is out of water, flower beds need weeding, front door needs a re-staining.  But the vision is there and the detail is there, and that is what you see in the big picture.  The location is what is it is - many properties in this area are unkempt  - it's not Las Vegas strip or Orange County - it's Desert Hot Springs!  But really, you walk in the door and you can already feel the stress melting away - soak for a few hours in the pool and you will "get it" - you will know why you are here and you will relax!  A short drive into Palm Springs for fine dining and nightlife - you have the best of both worlds.

Not high end luxury - just pure relaxation without crowds - very clean pools

The motto on top of the door entrance. This is a great gem hiding in Desert hot Springs. We enjoy our stay here for a couple of nights. It was very windy but nevertheless it was still good. Clean accommodations for adults only which was our first without our kids. We enjoyed meeting Cornelio who gave us a summary of his life and how they bought this hotel. His wife (Camelia) runs it and he helps some days, he told us. 
We love the patios outside the rooms, the spa, and breakfast was simple but good as well. The internet was not working when we were there but this could be due to the high winds. We came to Joshua Tree and it was about 45 mins from the West entrance. 
We would definitely stay here again.

Come as guests, leave as friends

We stayed at Tuscan Hot Springs Resort in March 2021 and used it as a base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park and sights around Palm Springs. It was a great choice for us. The exterior is not impressive, but once inside we found a real gem of a boutique hotel. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and well appointed. All rooms are on the ground floor and have easy access to extensive common areas. One large open-air common area has a pool and jacuzzi spa and a second covered spa is located under cover in an adjacent area. Large chaise lounges near the pools are perfectly located for relaxing in the sun or under cover. Our favorite features are two outdoor seating areas with gas fireplaces. We found them perfect for evening drinks while watching sunsets. Finally, the innkeeper is exceptionally friendly, accommodating and cheerful. We will surely book this hotel again for any future visits to this region. 

Wonderful boutique hotel

We just spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel in Desert Hot Springs. This was an absolutely pleasurable experience in a beautiful location with interesting design and landscaping reminiscent of an old world Tuscan villa.  The hot water pool and spas were very comfortable and spotlessly clean - we spent a lot of time in the mineral water.  Very laid back atmosphere and thoroughly gracious hosts.  Camelia was very warm and friendly making us feel at home.  It was obvious that this place reflects the labor of love over the long term.  We were glad to get to know Camelia, Cornel and their family and will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Beautiful property, great pools, very nice people

If you are looking for a very relaxing and peaceful getaway for a night in the Desert Springs area, this is the perfect place.  While visiting friends in the Loma Linda area, we chose to get away for a night and stayed at Tuscan Springs Hotel as we were curious about the natural mineral springs pools. The hotel is old but very charming and clean.  The staff was friendly and helpful.  The pools and spa temperatures are just perfect and very  clean with plenty of chairs to lay out or just sit around in.  The small continental breakfast was good with a variety of choices.  We paid the extra $45 for late check out so we could use the pools for the whole day and had the entire place to ourselves and it was worth it.  The only disappointment was the spa services were closed due to COVID, which was not the fault of the hotel. We would have chosen a massage if it had been available to us. Will definitely come back here if ever in the area again!

Relaxing and Peaceful 

Lovely atmosphere with 3 different natural mineral pools. Many choices of places to lounge in the sun or shade. Had a terrific massage as well. Didn’t stay at the hotel, but if you book a spa service you can use the mineral pools.
