You can not judge this book (The Indio Holiday Motel) by its cover (its exterior appearance). When my wife and I drove up to the Indio Holiday Motel we sort of sighed and thought, "Oh no, what have we here?" We were locked into a no-cancellation-reservation.

The manager was very no-nonsense, professional. I asked to see the room we were being assigned, looked at it, and was honestly very impressed with it. For one thing, we were able to park our vehicle directly in front-of-our-room. We had a microwave oven, a mini-refrigerator and a flat screen televison. Yes we had to pay 25-cents for a small bucket of ice and so what? The room rate was low. The front lobby had a nice selection of travel brochures and data.

There is also a very nice appearing swimming pool. We do not swim so can't comment further but it is attractive.

Is this the Taj Mahal? No it is not. It is a older property with its fair share of bumps and bruises. Our King Bed was very comforable. The WiFi was excellent. The room and the restroom were certainly clean if not brand new. The restroom had a lot of area to set things down on. Some motel room bathrooms have literally no space to even set a toothbrush down upon. We had a full supply of towels and wash cloths with a bath mat.

Yes indeed we would certainly return. Yes indeed we recommend this motel.

Two things were bothersome to us.

1. NO outgoing phone calls were possible Yes we could / and we did, successfully get incoming phone calls. But we could NOT even make 1-800 toll free calls. Yes we have (limited usage) cell phones and chose to use them only for texting.

2. The electrical outlet located at / near the table at which I used my computer was controlled by the overhead light switch at the entry door. So I had to have the overhead light on (lit) in order to have electrical power to my laptop. Late at night and early in the morning, so as not to bother my wife sleeping, I chose not to have the overhead light on and did not use my laptop. Yes, sure, I could have used its battery. Yes, sure, I could have gone out and bought an extension cord. I choose to do neither.

I still rate this as a VERY GOOD property.

well let me start off by saying the staff here is funny and kind i called the front dest several time asking for odd ball thing like a spoon for the food i got a the market a quader for some ice exec exec and they were more than happy to help with anything they can the room was plus sized as far as one beds go with everything you need to go out on the town or just stay in doors to stay out of the heat the pool was the perfect and refreshing tempiture and had a lift for wheelchair access to the pool, the parking lot was made for not a king but kings there is plenty of room and space for bigger truck and busses they have tuns of rooms and are never too busy to help a brother out i guess i could have just said this place has every thing
however i wish they had a kitchen for room service but there is a microwave in the room  and a  wheelchair right down the  down the street oh and f#@$ THE 117 degrees weather thank god the ac runs like a beast

this place is hot hot hot

This place is reminiscent of the golden era of travel and hasn't been updated much since then. There have been a few improvements made but overall still retains that essence of yesteryear.

The rooms are small but the bathrooms are roomy. Not the showers. They're little more than a closet, but the bathroom overall is nice.

There is a microwave and fridge as well as a flat screen TV and you can park right in front of your room, so that's nice. There is a pool as well but we didn't check it out.

The service was friendly. There were some maintenance issues that need taken care of though. The Wi-Fi was spotty and kept disconnecting, so don't plan on doing much streaming. The location is a bit tricky to get too, especially if you're not familiar with the area.

Overall, you could certainly do worse than staying here.

A quaint little throwback

I wqs only going to be in the Palm Springs area for a couple of nights and didn't really feel like paying $150 or more per night, plus tax and extras at the standard (but by no means luxury) hotels.  

I took a flyer on this one because the reviews weren't terrible.  Even for the price, I would not bother again.  The room could not be too much smaller.  TV does get a bunch of channels, including ESPN, CNN, MSNBC and FOX.  Old style window air conditioner is old and loud, and didn't really cool the room much at all.

Bed was small but not terrible.

All in all, it was a place to stay and it did have a good internet connection.  Not sure whether or not all Motel 6's have that.  Parking was free.  Indio is on the south end of the Palm Springs/Palm Desert/Cathedral City area.

Like I said, it was cheap ($84 total/night) but I can't imagine that Motel 6's aren't even less, and certainly could not be any more bare bones.

Thought I'd take a flyer to save some $$$, but should have just stayed at a Motel 6

Stayed here in February 2020. I've stayed in plenty of budget motels so I know what I'm getting. The place was quiet as there was only about 10 people there. Maybe that says something.

The heater was old and very loud. I didn't use the AC but I would think it would be very loud also. The microwave was dirty. The bathroom faucet came off when I tried to use it. I called the office and manager came over and said he fixed it. It came off again so I just didn't use the sink anymore. A positive was that the free wifi worked ok.

There are other similar priced motels in Indio that are better.

Dirty. Things don't work.

This week the weather was very warm in the 80s . The pool was very cold still and had fluff from the trees in it almost every day. when the pool was cleaned it looked great though. There was some umbrellas outside to keep the sun off a person when wanting to relax. However the manager took the umbrellas away and said they are not needed and put them in storage. I said now we have no shade, then he made the excuse that the poles are not safe to have them open. Poles were solid to me. Across the street is a truck stop and people are coming and going all the time along with ladies of the night and their clients. So not a great area for family to wander around. Only thing good was price was good however the room quality was very basic and the shower was dirty and a cleaning cloth was left in it when checked in as well. I would stay again if there was nothing else available compared to sleeping in the car, however if choices out there , look else where until they spend some money to upgrade and make the pool area more people friendly .

The week i stayed it was not a holiday at this place.

This motel has the worst owners / Managers I have ever experienced. Watch your cc charged. They are very shady and rude.  They ran my cc for over 4K for 1 weeks stay. 

The hotel itself is a dump! 
The internet does not work. 
The TV doesn’t work
The rooms smell
If ur staying more then 1 night you will find yourself fighting for clean towels
