The condos differ depending upon the ownership, however we enjoyed our condo. Appears all the condos have oceans views. Ours probably had older amenities, yet such a great price. We did not spend that much time in our room since we were exploring the island. True authentic Hawaiian ohana spirit, and you need to let go of the structured time and friendly people. Actually the condo owner ended up driving us to the airport. People go out of their way to accommodate your needs.

Loved Laid Back Molokai

Only stayed the one night but what a lovely sight in the morning! Only an expanse of grass between us and the palms and the Pacific. Watched a dozen boys play shuffle board while 6 or 7 people who've clearly retired went off on a two hour hike--made us smile.

Best view ever!

We stayed here with friends for a week in February 2023. The unit was on the second floor at the end nearest the vacant lots to the east. The unit was a bit tired but everything worked fine, although the couch cushions in the living room need replacement. There is a laundry room and you can get change at the manager's office.

The view from the lanai was to the southwest over the gardens and pool, and allowed for a perfect view of the stupendous sunsets.  We could also watch whales breaching just beyond the reef, and must have seen two dozen breaches in our time there. 

The barbecues were fairly new and seemed to work once you figured out how to set the dials. The pool and pool equipment was clean but the pool itself was cold. There is not much of a beach here but you can wade out into the lagoon or borrow a kayak and paddle out to the reef. There is however, not much to see in terms of fishes, just lots of little feed fishes and an occasional trout sized fish. 

To the east is a large abandoned lot fronting a well maintained Hawaiian fish pond.  The grounds of the resort were well maintained, and there were many chickens (be prepared for the roosters crowing), doves, sparrows and red cardinals. Other than the roosters and doves, the place was relatively quiet and relaxing.

A little tired but comfortable

The room was clean and comfortable. No AC, but there was an awesome breeze from the ocean. Had all the amenities needed, it's too bad I didn't have the time to use all of them. The grounds were kept clean.

Great breeze in Building A

So the good news about our unit- couldn't be a better view. Quiet place with few other people using the reasonably sized pool. Perfectly kept up. Bad news- the neighbor next to our unit had a sign up that was rude- basically said : "wear your EXpletive  Mask! " We are watching you!" That was our hello- of course we were wearing them- but we would see the neighbor walking his dog without one..Not your Aloha spirit.
Then the other thing is that a rooster crowed and crowded at 6am- want to sleep in? Not going to happen.  Also the unite is two bedrooms but only one bathroom downstairs- we were just the two of us but had there have been children or another couple and it would have been a mess. Plus no air conditioning - which was ok for the lower bedroom- it was cooled by fan and breezes- but the upper one was stifling..
All that said- the kitchen was nice and the lanai and its view were terrific. So I would say very good for a water view C building- but without the water view I would not stay there.    ( ps You may see this as a negative or a benefit- I saw it as the former- someone below us was constantly smoking pot- I wondered how it affected my mood- but I was pretty happy while there...)

The only reason for 4 stars is the mattresses. The one on the pull out couch I get but the one in the bedroom cheap and uncomfortable. That being said, this place is beautifully decorated and appointed, clean clean clean. You have everything needed to prepare food. Bring your own coffee filters! The view from the lanai is amazing, sunrises, a perfect view and a lovely area outside to watch the sun set. There are gas and charcoal grills and a swimming pool however we didn’t use these. The beach area is a great place for pre schoolers to play, it’s not good for swimming as the bottom is silty and mucky like a lake. Would stay again if the mattress was upgraded. Oh, bring quarters to do laundry, 2.00 for wash 1.00 for dry. No change machines and they will charge you for making change in town (I was told). 

Loved This Place!

The unit we had (A106) was very clean and well equipped, but privately owned and managed (not Castle). Molokai shores is possibly the best option for condo rental in the area due to location and upkeep. The patio looked out on the lawn and beach. This is a very quiet place, mostly seniors, and a quiet beach due to the offshore reef, the depth is less than your knee, good for wading or children, not swimming, but does work for paddling if you watch out for high spots. Sunsets can be nice from the beach. A big plus is that it is only about 1-2 miles form town, the major place for groceries and food on whole island (and it is not much!). Condos differ by owner, this particular one had bedroom (king), bath, and nice living area with fully equipped kitchen and tasteful décor, pictures and even books. There is a patio (lanai) for eating out or just sitting, but faces more or less south, so quite sunny. There is cable TV, but not much to watch—which is more or less a comment on our society, I assume. Condo has a pool and washing facilities (takes many quarters, manager office has them). We thought it was a great week stay, but there is one caveat, this condo is private, so the management has no information about it or access to it. It is accessed by a lockbox, on wall next to door, so make very sure you have the lockbox number before getting there. There may be no one to talk with about it once you are here. The emergency numbers posted on the office are of no use for this unit. A person, Margaret, lives close by, but may not be available when you arrive unless you make specific arrangements.

Unit A106, very nice

the LOCATION was perfect BUT the rooms had NO AC...which made our stay a DISCOMFORT...the living room sofa felt like it had NO PADDING...the bathroom was too SMALL & the LANAI space was DIRTY.  Would I stay at Molokai Shores again - probably NOT...its outdated

1st time  visitors

The Castle Molokai Shores is conveniently located a few minutes out of Kaunakakai. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a corner unit with a wrap-around balcony, which was nice.

Convenient, Close to Town

My husband and I spend one night here and found our one bedroom condo clean with comfortable chairs in the living room.  The bathroom was adequate, also clean.  I was worried that the bathroom door handle was going to fall off, but luckily, it did not.

This is a residential place as well as a rental place.  Since we were just there the one night we didn't want to do grocery shopping until we headed to our rental house on the west shore.  So, everything you need is a short drive away in the main town including some restaurants (we tried the pizza and burger places-- both good), the gas stations, and the famous bakery.  We snuck out to that place to get hot bread-- fun!

Unfortunately for us the folks below us smoked (constantly) so we were unable to get full access to the lanai.  Oh well.

We checked in after hours-- very easy and smooth process.  We checked our early too-- no problems.  Appreciated the ease of that.
