I only stayed one night but absolutely loved this hotel.  It oozed charm.  The little "help-yourself" pantry was a welcome site when we arrived after midnight.  And the coffee station was easy to find in the morning before Maggie arrived ready to make pancakes!  Was also delighted that they had a non-dairy milk option.  For being an old house in Maine in January I was impressed how warm and inviting it felt.  Will definitely be back!

Snowy January stay

Couldn’t have been happier. Beautiful room in the newly renovated house. 
Room was quiet and clean.
The breakfast was fantastic with endless choices. Tammara was so helpful and kind.
We will go back to this lovely, quiet spot whenever we’re in Portland. The neighborhood is charming.

Lovely period house

The perfect getaway for our anniversary trip! Exquisite interiors and fabulous hospitality, felt cared for and welcomed every moment! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and the homemade bread and butter included in the mouth-watering breakfast spread was delicious and so memorable. Staying here made our first trip to Maine so perfect. The beds are soft and spacious and communication is superb. The backyard garden is serene and lovely, the pantry well stocked, and we especially loved their little mixology station/kit. All in all, Blind Tiger blew us away and we’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful Oasis

Blind Tiger Carleton is a beautifully restored 1899 brownstone in the Portland West End--we had a wonderful time enjoying the guesthouse, the yummy snacks, walking through the historic neighborhood (check out the Western Prom!), and enjoying Portland's excellent culinary scene. The Blind Tiger team (looking at you Maggie and Natalie!) were wonderful!

Couples retreat in a gorgeously designed guest house in the culinary paradise of Portland

The B&B is a beautiful old home located in Portland's west end.  The inn exuded old world charm.  The innkeeper was very welcoming and gracious.  They offered helpful tips regarding things to do, restaurants, and navigating the city.
We are a couple in our 70's.  Our room was on the third floor which was not a challenge with our 21 inch luggage.  The room was spacious, quiet, and the bed was vey comfortable.
Breakfast was served in a lovely dinning room and featured a selection of tasty items. The innkeeper also had snacks available for the quests in the afternoon.
The inn is within walking distance of Old Port - a little over a mile and Portland is a very walkable city.  We would walk to and from downtown during the day.  We would walk to our restaurant in the evening and then take a Uber back which worked out quite well.
The innkeeper went above and beyond when my husband left his cell phone at the B&B.  They gladly sent the phone to us.
I cannot praise this establishment enough - beautiful location, lovely breakfast and extremely accommodating innkeepers.  The room rates are reasonable.
We routinely stay at B&B's on our trips and the Inn on Carleton is one of the better ones.

A Cozy and Welcoming B&B

My husband and I stayed here three nights  on a recent trip to Portland. The room was wonderful....beautiful furnishings, soft linens (bed and bath), quiet, ample room for luggage, spacious bathroom, delicious breakfasts and knowledgeable/helpful staff. Staff helped us with our suitcases (up to the third floor!) and made excellent restaurant recommendations. This inn is in a residential area and is easy walking distance to eateries and attractions. There is a staff member living on the premises. She assured us that she was available if we needed anything after 5:00 pm. This is a great inn and I would definitely book again on any future stay.

Top Notch!

I absolutely loved my stay at this beautiful inn.  It is exceptional in every way!   It is a beautiful 150+ yr old home that is a very enjoyable B&B.  It has a nice mix of new and old decor, but maintains the cozy atmosphere you would expect in a New England B&B.  It is meticulously maintained, quiet and peaceful with very supportive staff.  Our standard queen room  room was charming, immaculate, extremely spacious and comfortable.   It is well-located, in Portland’s West End filled with gorgeous architecture and wonderful restaurants and approximately a 1 mile walk to the old port / harbor area.   The inn keeper, couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming.  And the provided breakfast, served in the lovely dining room is a lovely assortment.  The rates are. also very reasonable expecially for a city.  I cannot recommend this place enough.  Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Exceptional B&B!

We decided to add an extra day to our trip out to Long Island ME and booked at this lovely B&B.  Great quiet neighborhood located just 2 blocks from shopping, eating etc and only a short walk to the old port. Room was a suite with tons of room and comfy bed.  The breakfast was amazing.  The staff was so friendly and helpful. Wished we had another night or two there.

Charming B&B Portland -  West End

This is a very comfortable and extremely clean B&B. Tamara is an excellent host and great breakfast chef. She was able to accommodate my dietary needs. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. 
Room and bathroom were spacious. Bed very comfortable. 
Easy access to Congress Street and the warf area. 
Good value.  I recommend staying here when visiting Portland.

Great B&B in Portland

My husband and I both enjoyed our trip to Portland and our stay at this charming B& B. We had  some differing opinions but both gave it 5 stars.
Location :  It was not a problem for us to walk the one plus mile in to town but at the end of the night it was easier to Uber. I wish we had known beforehand that Uber was the way to go. You cannot park down at the pier without paying exorbitant parking fees. They had a flat rate of $35 per car Sunday night.  An Uber was $8  And they are plentiful.
Breakfast-  I absolutely loved breakfast and appreciated all of the fresh choices.  Hubs is more of a meat/ potatoes/white bread type guy so wasn't quite as thrilled as I was.

We appreciated  the cold water and snacks always available...and homemade cookies!

We stayed in Room #3 which was spacious and very comfortable. Enjoy!
