The Holiday motel in Santa Maria is the worst motel I've ever stayed in.

I arrived in the late afternoon.  There is no reception area.  You have to ring a buzzer from the parking lot area.  Then, I waited a long time for a man to arrive behind a glass window.  He doesn't greet me.  He's rude.  I inform him I have reservations. 

He demans "show me!"  He refuses to take my name.  I have to show him the confirmation on my smartphone and explain it to him.

He still doesn't say anything.  He pushes a reservation card for me to fillout.  

I finally get to the room.  There are electrical wiring hanging.  There are small holes in the walls.  When you turn the light on in the bathroom, a VERY noisy fan turns on.  There is no soup in the bathroom.

There's list of "rules" taped to the door (in Spanish).  Incredibly, one of the rules is that you have to remove your own trash.

The bedspread looks dirty and old.  The bed is uncomfortable.

I could go on and on.  

Please, I implore everyone . . . don't stay here.  It's terrible.

Worst motel ever

We arrived at this place after 8 pm and found the housekeeping staff (who appeared as though they just walked off the street) arguing/yelling while hastily cleaning the rooms. The location was right off a main street. We were charged up front prior to seeing the room - huge mistake! The beddings were so filthy that we decided to sleep in our street clothes with socks on even if the room had no A/C. The furniture look like they came off a dumpster. Fridge and microwave were not even plugged in. Brown water came out of the shower so we decided to forego that as well. Besides all you get is a single bath towel and a couple of smaller towels, 2 bars of soap, 2 toilet rolls of paper and 2 plastic cups. Yup, that's all. Paper thin walls. No vent or window in the bathroom!! Some guests left later that evening but we were too tired to look for another place and weren't familiar with the town so we stayed the night ... with one eye open!

Spend the night in your car for a better option.

The most disgusting place I have ever stayed !!! We booked this hotel very late and arrived just before midnight. We were too tired to drive any longer so had to find a place where to sleep. Huge mistake to stay overnight. Probably more safe to spend a night in the car than at this motel. Drunken people fighting downstairs, people running back and forth, noisy, felt very unsafe,no proper lock in the door, didn´t sleep at all. BEDBUGS ! Don´t even think to book this one, if last possible room available in the whole city !!

"STAY AWAY!!"

Slum! Horrible place! We checked in to friendly faces, entered the room to a stench of feces, cigarettes and mould. Cigarette burns on the bed, holes in the walls, window would not close. Definite health and safety risk, the place should be knocked down!

I'm not leaving this review to vent or bellyache...this is truly to help others...PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!

I’m here to tell you this is the worst motel experience of my life. I’ve traveled quite a bit in the past (driven through 46 states) and have stayed in many different places, but this takes the cake for being the worst. I was traveling with a group of friends and  reserved us two separate rooms in this Holiday Motel. Both rooms were equally horrible. One room smelled like vomit, there was what looked like some kind of excrement smeared on the main area wall, and the bathroom walls were dirty and peeling. The furniture was falling apart and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The door looked like it had been kicked in and the frame was cheaply patched up. The other room had a sagging bed, equally dirty bathroom, smudges all over the walls and the carpet was sticky. The smoke detectors in both rooms were hanging by their wires and didn’t appear to be functional. The neighborhood looked sketchy as well. This is the first time in my travels I decided to abandon the motel before staying the night. I requested a refund as I had only been there for less than an hour, and the owners were very rude and not accommodating. They insisted that the rooms were clean and I was overreacting. In the end, I only received a partial refund. If you care at all for your health, safety and sanity, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!
