We needed a place to stay on our way back from OBX and were thrilled to find the River House Inn. Lilly and the full staff were very pleasant and helpful with anything we needed to make our short stay one we wished we had more time to extend.
The house is very charming and the pool area was a real treat. From the complimentary coffee, tea, water, wine, and delicious breakfast to the very clean and comfortable room, we were very happy to have stayed here.
The area was also quiet and charming with shops and dining within walking distance from the inn.
We hope to return for an extended stay.

A very charming and relaxing stay.

Rick and Dwayne run a wonderful B&B and they are fantastic hosts. We enjoyed speaking with both of them and getting dining tips as well. 

They serve a full breakfast - fruit, juice, waffles, has browns, and eggs cooked to order  - Rick's waffles are amazing. We own our kayaks and for both of our visits, Rick rode with us to a kayak put-in at Porters Crossing and drove our car back to their property so that we didn't have to paddle back to the put-in and load our car again. We paddled about 5.5 miles from Porters Crossing to River House and left our kayaks at the bottom of their hill so we could go out again later.

The rooms are very comfortable - we had a king bed and our friends had a queen bed. The swimming pool is heated and very relaxing after a day of paddling. We also drove to the beach at Assateague National Park - I think it was about 25 minutes or so. We  ate dinner in Berlin one evening.

I highly recommend staying here - lots of value for what you pay and a very nice time.

EVen Better Than Our First time

traveling from Hatteras to upstate New York has always been a journey with our Labradors  but finding this gem has been a treat great room great grounds and the best waffles, the town was perfect for walking and our hosts were laid back and made us and our pets feel most welcomed

Great Place

Wonderful greeting, great atmosphere, clean, homey and a nice little town. Breakfast was great and the staff was above and beyond great. Loved the feel of the nostalgia of the Inn and the step back in time with the feel of being there. Glad we chose too stay with them. Recommended stay for anyone!

Home Away from Home

We stayed at the River House Inn to volunteer at the Ocean City Air Show. From the moment we walked onto the property, we felt welcomed and "at home." The Inn has a great feel to it - both historic and homey. Our room was very nice sized and very clean. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us and make us feel like family. I think we have found a gem that we will visit again. Half an hour to the beach and so many other things to do. And the property is just so peaceful. We just sat and relaxed for over an hour. It was heaven on earth!

WHAT A GREAT PLACE!

This place is a gem! My wife and I stayed in the river cottage , awesome little place , clean and comfortable! The entire property is beautiful. Rick and Dwayne are incredible hosts and two of the nicest people you can meet! We came here to visit our daughter who was in Maryland for 2.5 months . She came and hung out with us by the beautiful unground pool , covered patio with all the tools to bbq, and did some fishing by the river. We cannot say enough great things about this place! Also the breakfast that Rick and Dwayne cook is incredible!!! You can see all the hard work they put in to this little paradise! We will be back! Thank you for creating such a great , awesome place

Incredible!

Where do you go when you want to both pamper yourself AND "get busy" kayaking and hiking over a long weekend? 

I always choose The River House. This time, I stayed in the River Cottage so as to not miss a minute of nature soaking over me in the screened-in porch at sunset. It's remarkable what a REAL B&B breakfast and caring hosts can do for the soul.

PERFECTION!

I highly recommend this B&B!  The owners are friendly and personable, and great breakfast cooks!  It's only a half hour demo Chincoteague/Assateague and Ocean City.  Beautiful area!  Worth the drive for a quiet (meaning jo traffic jams!) vacation.

Just lovely!

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at the River House Inn. Our room, the river room, was perfect for us and was so beautifully decorated. The house as a whole is also beautiful and has so many interesting features and art work. Most of all, we really enjoyed meeting Dwayne and Rick and their super cute black lab :) They are so kind, and they do such a great job creating a really homey feel and providing the quintessential bed and breakfast experience. We especially loved the amazing homemade breakfasts :) they have something for everyone— I’m a vegan and my friend doesn’t eat red meat, and we had plenty of delicious food. We highly recommend you check out the River House Inn and the charming town of Snow Hill.

Wonderful Stay in a beautiful place!

This is a large property with a beautiful Victorian main house and a few cabin like outbuildings- all with great porches and other amenities. Our cabin/room was large and well appointed with an excellent bed, hot tub and other comfortable amenities- to include a river facing porch. The property is well maintained and has a large lawn, pool/outdoor kitchen and probably 100 yards or so of waterfront. The main house is cozy and the hosts friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful, excellent quality and (eggs) are cooked to order. If you like waffles, try theirs! Room fridges have soda and water and you can always get a complimentary glass of wine in the main house. Not a lot in town but well located to Eastern Shore hot spots and the ideal place to just chill, relax and read or play games. In summer (and non COVID) imagine it’s a great spot for a large family rent out, wedding or other type of party. Prices are a bit high but the value is too- well worth it. We highly recommend this spot. Oh and dog friendly in certain rooms and with a host dog- fully fenced!!
