Such a gem on the Frying Pan River in Basalt, Co! The rooms are beautifully modern and have amenities such as refrigerator and microwave and coffee. The sounds of the river lull you to sleep! Highly recommend staying here. Great restaurant right next door too.

Amazing river views!

This hotel is such a gem in the Roaring Fork Valley! We were there for a short cross country ski trip for which the location was perfect. We could easily access the trails in Basalt, Snowmass, and the Aspen Nordic Center without having to stay all the way up valley and deal with the traffic and expense that entails. 

The room was updated and clean. Our room overlooked the river and we made good use of the chairs outside the room, enjoying our morning coffee. 

Breakfast was good and much appreciated. The staff at the front desk were all friendly and efficient.  We really couldn't have asked for anything more. We'll definitely be back!

What a Gem!

The external appearance of the facility belies the interior quality and location.  We had a room on the second floor facing the river and it was delightful.  We sat on a bench by the river for some time sipping wine and just listening to the gurgling water. The owners have remodeled the interiors and they did an excellent job.  This facility gets my top rating because it has great value: wonderful location, rooms and at a reasonable price.

Lovely Location on the River & Remodeled Rooms

Aspenalt Lodge offers comfortable accommodations in a scenic location.  Rooms were comfortable and clean with a huge television.  My room was facing the Frying Pan River and the king size bed was great.  The location affords the visitor easy access to several good restaurants and shops in Basalt, not to mention the river for world class fishing.

Great Option in Basalt

The location is perfect. Right in the center and you can easily walk to everything. It felt very safe even at night walking around in the dark. The room was clean and quiet. There is ample parking on site. They even had a nice little grab and go breakfast in the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. 

We were in building B which seem older but the room was clean and comfortable. My only disappointment was that I thought our room reservation was to have a mountain view or a river view but we only had a parking lot view. 

Perfect for one night

We spent two nights in the Aspenalt Lodge in Basalt CO, while on a long weekend in the beautiful Roaring Fork Value. It's now expensive to visit the RF valley in the summer. We were pleased with the Aspenalt. The hotel is hold and the rooms are somewhat dated but we had a pleasant and quiet stay.. One thing we liked is just around the corner, within a 5 minute walk, are a number of very nice restaurants in downtown Basalt. The hotel lies on the Roaring Fork River. The access to the river and the restaurants make it a great location.

Good Value

Very clean , friendly, and only 15 minutes to Snowmass!  Rooms along river are freshly RE-done.  Several places to eat within walking distance.   Liquor store and gas station next door.  Only thing it’s missing is a hot tub...

Very clean and convenient to Aspen

When we pulled up to this place we were very doubtful! But is lived up to what others have said. CLEAN as can be! Quiet...not like the newer places where you can hear your neighbors cough...this place is very quiet. The beds were so amazing that I had to find out the brand so I could buy one. Rooms are small.....but we were out hiking all day so didn’t care about that at all. Our room was on the river...so opening the windows at tonight and listen to that was a treat! The lobby has had a nice remodel and the breakfast was limited but worked for us! I wish the young man in the lobby knew more about local activities. He didn’t seem at all aware of what was happening around town at all. 
I would stay here again for sure! Thank you for being so darn clean!!!! 

A Gem

This is a small, vintage motel.  They were in the process of refurbishing so breakfast was just coffee and doughnuts in a small space.  The room was upstairs but there are ground-level rooms available.  Room was clean and convenient.  Nice location on the banks of the river with chairs and tables and barbecue grills available to enjoy.  Several good restaurants nearby.

Better than expected

Nice little hotel right on the Frying Pan River.   Great location for both summer and winter activities.   Within walking distance of some very good restaurants.   Very friendly and accommodating owner and staff.  Can't wait to go back!
