We had a fabulous time staying at Harbor Knoll for three nights on a simply gorgeous November weekend.  It was a celebration of my dad's 85th birthday and we all had a fantastic time.  Leueen was a fabulous innkeeper and we really enjoyed our lively conversations and hearing about her fascinating life.  The location was perfect and the sunrises and moonrises were spectacular in addition to the proximity to town.  Greenport is lovely!  So many great restaurants, coffee shops, and other shops.  We enjoyed dinners at Claudio's, Front Street Station and The Frisky Oyster.  All very different experiences and types of dining and food but each was enjoyable.  (Jordan was our server at the Frisky Oyster and he was outstanding and Kathy had us laughing at Front Street Station).  Jumping off the dock into the chilly harbor was exhilarating! We really loved watching the Shelter Island ferry go back and forth and enjoyed our day trip to Shelter Island, Sag Harbor (lunch at the American Hotel was fabulous) and Montauk.  We visited two North Fork wineries the second day (One Woman and Croteaux...both not to be missed!).  The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room had great views of the harbor.  The little bar at the Inn where we enjoyed Happy Hour each day was also a treat. Thank you for a wonderful getaway to a lovely place on the planet!

Wonderful stay at Harbor Knoll

My husband and I just had a wonderful anniversary weekend at Harbor Knoll B & B in Greenport.  It was a bit last minute but Leueen had room for us in her Enchanted Cottage, which was perfect for us - the king-sized bed was very comfortable and we loved having the kitchenette.  Breakfasts were delicious and both mornings we enjoyed stimulating conversations with Leueen and the other folks who were smart enough to choose Harbor Knoll.  We loved the location; close enough to walk to town but just far enough to enjoy a quiet evening watching the moon rise over the harbor.  This could be habit-forming!!

Great weekend at the beautiful Harbor Knoll Bed & Breakfast

The Inn at Harbor Knoll is a very special B&B. It is within walking distance to Greenport, the LIRR and the ferry to Shelter Island. The host and her assistant are very warm and welcoming. They provide a delicious breakfast in a lovely room overlooking the bay. The room I stayed in was cozy and meticulously clean with touches such as robes, fluffy pillows and books. I was provided with beach towels, a spectacular view and chocolates at the entrance.

We felt so lucky to have found this gem for our four day stay in the North Fork. Perfect location, a two minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Greenport, yet tranquil and away from the busyness of the town. 
The place captures all the charm of the historic beach houses in the area. A pool and beach add to the vacation feel, guests swimming from the pier and lounging at the beach.
An added and unexpected plus for us were discussions at breakfast and over a glass of wine with our delightful host with stories from interesting places all over the world where she has lived over the years. We look forward to returning in summers to come.

Perfect location, a wonderful experience

My husband and I recently stayed at Harbor Knoll for 2 nights.  The entire compound is beyond charming. We arrived on a glorious afternoon, and we sat on the beach and drank a few White Claws, as we watched the ferries go by to Shelter Island. Did I mention its own private beach steps from the inn.  Just beautiful!  The grounds and house are just beautiful, especially if you like history.  It has an amazing screened in porch and a beautiful breakfast room and library.  The innkeeper, Luene, is charming and interesting as well.  She was very knowledgeable about the history of the house, and we enjoyed our many chats with her.  Harbor Knoll is the best of the North Fork! It does not get better than this!   Book directly with the inn, and not on other websites to get best rate.  Can’t wait to return.


Best of North Fork

We stayed as a family with three people at harbor knoll (in the cottage). Located directly at the ocean with a pool in addition it is a very cosy and classy place with a wonderful host leueen. Leueen has decorated things really nicely and it truely feels like a home away from home. High recommendation 

A home away from home

From the moment we arrived, we were enamored with the beautiful scenery and the lovely home. The driveway is lined with hydrangea and lots of cute bunnies hopping all around. We really wanted a waterfront experience and this B&B didn't disappoint. We were able to wake up and go to bed wth the sound of the water and we enjoyed many hours sitting outside enjoying the view. We took afternoon naps under the shaded trees. It was simply beautiful. 

The staff was lovely and accommodating. Check-in and check-out times were firm as there are only a few rooms available for guests, which makes it the perfect place for a quiet getaway. The inside of the home is really pretty - very comfortable and inviting. Our room was quaint and lovely. There are some board games in the main library and MANY books throughout the house for guests to read. The pool is only open from 10 am to 2pm, so we got to use it once, but t was clean and warm and well-maintained.

The only issue I had was with the towels and sheets. They sheets were comfortable and the towels seemed like they were brand new, but I have a fragrance allergy and they definitely used fragrant detergent and fabric softeners. The housekeeper was very nice and washed the sheets for me mid-stay, but the lingering smell was still a bit too strong for me. I was grateful I had my own towel in the car and when we stay again, I will probably bring my own pillowcase and blanket, but it's worth it because we REALLY loved the location and everything about our stay was wonderful and relaxing. We will definitely be back again!

Great little getaway

We spent 4 nights at this delightful B&B in Greenport. The Inn is lovely, clean and well maintained. The Innkeeper was informative and a pleasure to talk to. It is extraordinarily well located; an easy walk to town and to a small town beach. As is indicated by its name, it's located right on a harbor with a stunning view. It is highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Harbor Knoll B and B. Our host, Leueen was most accommodating, We spent a lot of time engaging in very interesting conversation with her! The inn itself was a beautiful building, the room was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious (especially the french toast), the grounds and view were spectacular. Sitting outside early in the morning and afternoon was relaxing while enjoying wine and the water view. The location was excellent, the walk to town is 5 min. We do not hesitate to recommend Harbor Knoll to anyone who is visiting Greenport.

Weekend visit to Greenport, NY

Stayed in the Light house room. The room was very clean with beautiful views of the water.  This home was stunning!  Lueen was an added pleasure.  We had a lovely talk while eating our delicious breakfast!  Short walk into town or drive to the many wineries and farms. Just perfect for a relaxing getaway!
