Our five-night stay in Nederland was made comfortable by the staff and lodgings at this property. Every need is addressed promptly. And, Joey and Laura serve up a Managers’ Reception on Wednesday evening, complete with grilled meats, sides, and complementary beer and wine. This hotel is a smart choice!

A Week in Comfort

I have been stayed in this hotel a few times this month. The rooms are recently renovated.  They are quiet, clean, and no funny smell at all. The beds are comfortable. There is a kitchen and refrigerator in the room, which is the highlights I am looking for.The staffs are very friendly. The hotel also provide a complimentary laundry to all the quests. If you are the IHG member, the hotel owner invites you a free dinner and drink on Wednesday night. How nice!

Nice Hotel in Beaumont Area of East Texas

Thankfully, I was able to find a room for a few nights after a hurricane created contractor work for weeks. I had to come very late to check in, but had no issues getting checked in. Parking wasn’t great, but that happens when the hotel is completely booked. 

The weird thing was, there was a fan set up in the room- like a fan you put in a water damaged room to dry the carpet. Very odd. No mention of it at check in. 

But the room is clean. I have no real complaints

Well, that’s a first...

When we checked in, we were put on the first floor. My husband ask that they change it to second or third floor. When we got to the room, we had two double beds....okay. The room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. As we were bringing up our luggage, the second time we brought some items to the room, the door wouldn't open. I tried several times to open it and it finally worked. We had bought a DVD to watch since the room had a DVD player. It worked, but no sound. I tried to call the desk, and the room phone wasn't working. I guess the worst thing about it was the smell. The hotel smelled of old sweaty socks and cigarettes. After being out on Saturday, we came back to our room to the sound of a boom box next door and the very strong smell of someone smoking in their room wafting all over the second floor.

Family visit

Lots going on in the area so very few hotel rooms available.  This hotel was not available on ihg or any other website.  Luckily my client called the front desk to check availability.  So be sure to call any hotel for available rooms when online shows none.  

Anyway, i was lucky to get a room so they get an extra star for that.  Room was clean but had such a weird smell.   Smelled like onion juice and chlorine.  Luckily just one night.

Room smells weird

A lady by the name of Haley has no filter around her guest . She talk the the employees especially Ashley whith so much disrespect! Her attitude is straight garbage and falt out rude . I travel all over the u.s. and have dealt  with many of people but as for this candlewood here in Nederland our company  will never come to again!!!!

Worst candlewood

Hotel is NASTY. Smells bad, room is sub-par. 
Tried to cancel... they stated I would be charged for a night. I will be disputing the charges. 
Couldn’t bring myself to sleep at this place. 
Called IHG... they sympathized but couldn’t stop the charges. 

If you stay here... definitely lower your expectations.
