I booked two connecting rooms in this B&B 4 months prior to our stay.  When I contacted the owner to ask a question, I was told that the place had been sold and that it was being turned into a Guest House.  She explained that they would give us vouchers for a nearby restaurant for breakfast.  What I didn't realize at the time is that also meant no service of any kind.  There was no coffee, no cleaning - not even to empty the trash, no contact with anyone until it was time to pay the bill.  When I asked about keeping the room for an extra couple of nights, the rate had increased significantly from what I originally booked.

The house itself is lovely but it could use a good cleaning.  Our room was nice but our bathroom was very cramped with only a few inches of space between the tub and wall requiring you to slide by sideways to get to the toilet. 

We chose the location because it was close to a wedding we were attending.  Be prepared to drive or take cabs most places as it is not close to anything.  It was a 25 minute walk to the Quarter through some areas where I wouldn't want to walk alone at night.

Not What We Expected

A room was booked through Hotels.com more than a week ago. Last night I received an email from the Owner stating that the room was overbooked and I needed to cancel my reservation. I am now left scrambling to find another hotel or B&B as there was barely any available the weekend are supposed to attend a wedding and there is even less available now. This "oversight" may force us to cancel our attendance at the wedding.

We turned up after a 6 hour drive to be told that the hotel had been taken over and that our booking had been cancelled back in August. We were not made aware of this. We were told that they had cancelled people's bookings as they got more money of other people they had booked in. They did however assist us in finding somewhere to stay but not what you need when you arrive somewhere you have pre paid for.

Ridiculous

Three weeks before my trip to New Orleans, Five Continents cancelled my November reservation. The House Manager cited that they came under new ownership and would be operating as a guest house. She also said that they no longer had access to the credit card system used to process my deposit. She offered to send me back my refund via snail mail. I gave her my mailing address. When I still hadn't received the check after two weeks, I emailed again. No response. Their phone is also out of order. Here we are a month later and I have yet to get back my $210 deposit. I'm now filing a dispute with my credit card company. I'm not sure what kind of operation they are trying to run. Between my experience and other recent reviews, there's a lot of red flags here.

Fraud and Breakfast

We were extremely disappointed with our 2 night stay at the 5 Continents. This is not a B&B. We were told 2 weeks before we arrived that the original owners sold and it was turned into a Guest House. There was no one to greet us when we arrived. The key was left in the mail box. The new owner does not serve breakfast but we were provided breakfast vouchers at a café 2 blocks way. Our room was not refreshed, bath towels were stained and frayed. Quite frankly the entire place could of used a good cleaning. We paid for the comforts, hospitality and warmth of a B&B. Our stay here could not compare to the experiences we have had in the past. The only time we were in contact with the manger was to arrange a meeting so we could pay the balance of our bill.
