This is a budget-minded place. It's not a chain. It's out of sight and sound of an interstate. It's in an interesting college town. Those are all good things. The bathroom and AC were newish. The decor is wood-paneled Dad's den circa 1983. Mom has sort of given up dusting but it's OK. There is a well kept city parklet next door and a decent fast food selection within walking distance. There were useful working appliances in the room. The fellow at the front desk was utterly charming. You could tell he liked people. There were a few shady types here and there but not really threatening. The lobby had a sort of stale smell and probably all the carpets should be replaced. But the price was right. I am always amazed when people expect a budget place to be comparable with an expensive brand. This is not a Hilton property. If that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. There are expensive places just up the road.

Funky as Heck But I Like It

The nastiest room legit I’ve ever been in. They dont want to give you a refund or nothing they’re ultimately broke asf. Please don’t waist your coins. They will not even try and hear you out. They will legit laugh like it’s okay for you to have just waist your money

Don’t do it

if I could post NEGATIVE STARS!!!No hot water, looks like a suicide or murder happened in the room.  Staff speaks zero English. Would not refund.  We left.  Advised Champaign County Health Department, and following with the fire prevention bureau.   Someone needs to shut this place down.  Oh...Booking.com is no help.  I’m out $375 for Dads weekend at U of I.   I travel weekly for business.  The power of reviews are important.  Read this and beware!

Health Dept alert!!!

Where do I begin?

Let's start with some small details. The shower curtains had mold. There was a swastika carved into the sink. All of the soaps were opened already. The towels were brown-ish despite being obviously previously white. Let's just say the bathroom was so gross that I decided to just go without showering. 

The beds were uncomfortable and the sheets were so thin I was freezing all night. They had cigarette burn holes in them. The room smelled very strongly of smoke despite being non smoking. 

There were no lights outside the doors. It was pitch black if you had to move between rooms. The parking lot wasn't even lit. 

Now let's get to the good stuff. 

The doors face the outside yet these doors were obviously not outside quality. There was no deadbolt and they were very thin. Not at all hard to break if someone wanted to break in. This might sound paranoid, but two drunk guys stood outside near my door all night (yes literally all night) and periodically would get into heated arguments. Then, another drunk guy went and pounded on every single door asking to be let it. I was scared enough that I put the chair in front of the door as a barricade. 

THEN, around 1am a bunch of drunk guys got into a fight and we had to call the cops. We had to keep ourselves anonymous on the call because if one of the guys figured out who called, they easily could've broken into our room. 

Edit: In the morning, as we boarded our school bus, a lady who was obviously high tried to get on. We had to slowly back her off the bus because no matter what she said she wouldn't get off. After she got off she continued to circle the bus, looking in the windows, until we left. Then SHE FOLLOWED US IN HER CAR for a few blocks. 

TL;DR
I was in a group of high school students and we were by far the least disruptive people there. The funny thing is, this isn't even a bad part of town. I felt unsafe walking around the motel but as soon as I left the parking lot I felt safer.  If you're thinking about going somewhere, pick a place where you can sleep soundly without having to barricade your door. (i.e. literally anywhere else)

The worst place I've ever been

Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!  There was hair all over the bathtub and the toilet!! The sheets were dirty under the comforter which looked like blood. It's like they didn't even clean the room from the prior guests!!   No smoking room reeked of smoke and there was a big burn hole in the comforter.  No one in my group showered there! 

When we left the next day there were several extremely shady people standing around outside who worked there. I never go online to write a review, but this is so bad that the place should be shut down. I would have rather slept in my car then to stay there, seriously!!!  $100 a night?  More like a $30 place.  DO NOT STAY THERE!!!
