It was quaint and quiet. Best of all, it was clean! We booked a chain motel earlier that day and it was awful. So we left that place and booked mission bell at the last minute. So glad we did, this was a breath of fresh air, literally. The manager was nice and you can tell he takes pride in the place. It has nice landscaping, you park right next to your room, it has a microwave, refrigerator and freezer, and a stove. It's also next to an ice cream parlor and a mall. 

Great place

We needed a place to stay the night before our trip out to Channel Islands that would keep our bags while we went out to the islands.  This is a quaint little motel and they were happy to hold our bags.  I was a little worried since it was such a small motel but sure enough when we got back they were safe and sound in the office.  Thanks Mission Bell Motel.  We did not have a car so it was also nice to be within walking distance of Target and some restaurants.

Fine place to stay and friendly owners

We have 2 emotional support animals and needed something inexpensive.  Mission Bell was very accommodating!  They try and take care of everyone!  The room was old, but that is part of it's charm.  Shower was very small and the shower head did not work well, but we were still able to use it.  Love the kitchenette! The area is an older area of Ventura, but it is close to both the 126 and the 101.  Loved being able to park our car right outside our room door!  We were there for my work and the closet in our room was HUGE!  plenty of room to move around! Thanks for a great stay Mayor!

Great value !

This motel is a typical older style independently owned California motel. I like this style when traveling on my Harley because it's one story and I can park right outside my door. This motel even had covered parking. The room was spacious and clean. There was even a small kitchenette in this room. The managers were very friendly. The one downside for me was no coffee maker in the room, no coffee in the office. I mentioned it to the manager and he later came to my room with a mug and some instant coffee. It wasn't Starbucks but was a nice gesture anyway.

Clean, comfortable, convenient location.

Picked this as a last minute stay. The reviews on the site we booked were in my opinion a little misleading.
We arrived & were given our room. On entering we were overwelmed by an unidentified smell. The manager came as we were uncomfortable with staying in the room. He was very pleasant & showed us the room next door. Unfortunately the smell was the same. He asked if it was OK & we had to say no & we thought it was a urine smell. This could have been drains. Anyway, he showed us another room on the other side of the motel & this was OK.    We didn't feel that happy with staying but it was late. The overwhelming smell outside of the room was canalised, this is legal in California. The saving grace of this property was the pleasant manager.

A disappointing stay

I booked this hotel through Expedia which I will have second thoughts about doing again.  The room was dirty.  The floor was tile but there was hair and dirt along the edges of the floor and a cockroach in the bathroom.  The comforter was stained with some liquid.  The manager and his wife were very intrusive and asked personal questions.

Mission Bell motel - Ventura

Before letting us in to view the room the host slipped his arm through the front door to turn on the lights,  He waits a second before opening the door to let us in, that was strange.  The room was clean but had an odd smell which we overlooked.  15 minutes after accepting the room I turned down yellow stained comforter to find 4 long black hairs,  2 on the pillows one mid down and one at the foot of the bed.  Immediately we  decided not to stay and asked for a refund.  The host said no.  After going back and forth he agreed. Well, I received my statement today and found that Mission Bell  had charged my card and did not revers the charge.  In addition to not refunding the charge the following day Mission Bell charged my card again for a second night.
