Locals remember it as shabby, but we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable clean room and the well maintained exterior .  We had a comfortable king size bed, the room was spacious enough to have an armchair, small desk, and came with an ironing board and iron(!) as well as a large mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer.  We were pleased with the amenities.  Heater was quiet and efficient. We were on the second floor, even though some traffic noise, it never was bothersome and all quieted down quickly. (it's set back from the road.)
All this for at least a third less (or more!) than other hotels in St. Johnsbury - which is where we had to be each day - but we gladly made the 15 minute drive.
We will definitely stay here again!

Better than expected!

Room was nice for the price I paid. I had a microwave, mini fridge. My only complaint is the pillows had several strands of hair on them that definitely weren’t mine. Other than that, I found nothing wrong with the room.

Needing a night away. Easy access from I-91. I had no problems checking in. Front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and warm. Bathroom was clean. Shower was hot. Good Wi-Fi.

A night away

Made a late reservation and upon arrival things seemed to go smoothly, The girl behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Got room key and ran my credit card thru. However she accidentally billed me for someone else's room and I caught the error as One night is not 450 bucks. She apologized over and over and corrected everything. to both our satisfaction. 
The Motel is on a corner and two floors. Old style no elevator, steps only. had second floor room. Although the room was marked nonsmoking the place had a odor of cigarette smoke in it. Did not help my asthma at all. Room was clean and normal dings and scratches. However I would say that its a bit overpriced ( one night for $140???) for what you get. Still things were nice and would stay here again when in the area.

Older place but nice

Missed connections at a long planned Macindoe Falls stay landed us in Lyndonville, VT, for a brief overnight before our pilgrimage to the Dog Chapel. The gracious and competent-beyond- her-years Chelsea handled our mid evening  resting place needs in a flash. The rooms are adequate and clean with parking good for cars, trucks, and SUVs. Location- based concerns about noise were abated by the walls and, perhaps, the mid week traffic patterns. Having to swap rooms due to non functioning cable service led to a room with a non functional refrigerator. While the overnight temperatures kept the food safe in the rental car, and Chelsea was more than happy to reset us again, we politely declined and fell into a restful nights sleep. The price was right, the checkout from AGM Christy the next morning efficient and friendly, and the breakfast recommendation of the Lyndonville Diner was accurate. So, as a rare rest option in the area, the Colonnade takes the middle ground and holds it effectively. 

A middling port in a storm

Former smoking rooms should not be considered Non-smoking rooms. That stench is in the walls, rugs, and furniture. It doesn’t go away because you clean the carpets and change the sheets.  I didn’t even want to put my stuff down. 

The front desk said they couldn’t change our room and that all of the rooms are non-smoking. Maybe now they are, but they weren’t always. I have multiple chemical sensitivities and scent triggered migraines and am in a world of hurt. Unfortunately we weren’t able to leave and find another place to stay. 

The night we stayed was way overpriced for the quality of the room. There is dirt on the walls and windowsills, dust on other surfaces, giant streaks on the mirror like it was cleaned with a greasy washcloth,  stains on the lamp shades, and something icky on the shower curtain. 

The location is good. So there’s that...

Not really sure what else is in the area, but I would probably sleep in my car before staying here again.

Reeks of stale smoke

It was the most disturbing place I've seen. Homeless people that lived there walking around smoking looking like zombies. My heart went out to their children playing outside.. The room was dark, dirty, smelled like smoke and who knows what. Lamps didn't work. I told my husband that I couldn't stay there. The clerk was very agreeable with refunding us (probably used to it).

Find someplace else to stay!!

Place is drug infected with state welfare scammers and they don’t care about the drug use that goes on there…my almost 3 year old is very friendly to people and the other guest they have there I had to keep her away in fear she’d get something and the odor of drugs being used in room adjacent and nothing being done about it was repulsive

So much to tell!  Where do I start?!  Was told it was non smoking room, it sure smelled as if someone had smoked it there, maybe it was the people who lived there!  Stood outside and watched us being our things in, and out, smoking away!  It was dirty, noisey, and the Wi-Fi was spotty!

Disgusting

We stayed at the Colonnade Inn one night (5/13/2019), and that was one too many.  When we arrived, the manager had us assigned to a second floor room.  We are both late 60's, and not good carrying baggage up stairs.  The entire parking lot was empty, so  I asked for a ground floor room, and was assigned one at the back end that the manager said was "just remodeled".  The card key she gave me would not wrk, so I had to go all the way back to the office, where the manager, said she gave me the wrong key, and handed me some red magnetic thing, that she said would open the door.  Then she said the door lock hasn't been working, and I should just "give it a shove".  I got the door opened, and we fired up the heatre.  It worked fine until it warmed up, then made a loud noise like the penalty buzzer in a HS basketball gale about every minute or so.  Had to shut it off to sleep, so no heat on a 40 degree nigh with snow predicted in the forecast.  None of the interior fixtures were done, and there were bare screws and bolts sticking about 2 inches out of the walls in the sink area.  I found out when I checked out that that room had a fire and was recently refutbished, but they weren't done yet.  Also of note is that the hotel was mostly empty, with maybe a few cars parked by rooms. As far as the basics go, there was no wifi, or hair dryer as advertised, and no hangers in the closet.  The manager was being a nasty troll because I didn't take the room she assigned.  She said as much when I had to get the correct key.  If we hadn't just driven for 8 hours from coastal Maine we would have left.  Bottom line is that the place was a ripoff, With a broken door lock, no secondary lock, and no heat. It is a place worth avoiding.  We did not feel safe while there.
