My boyfriend and I have stayed here several times.  Every experience has been so positive.  I absolutely love the eccentricity of the rooms.  No two alike but all similar.  Always clean! Always plenty of towels! Plenty of hot water! If you’re looking for a no thrills, older charming place to stay Brookside is it! Michelle is amazing!!

Love this place!!

Have stayed here before and will continue to come back. Neat little retro roadside motel with lots of charm. Owners are very nice and helpful. My only complaints would be the tiny shower and thin window curtains.

Cozy accommodations

The room was old school motel style, a little snug, but adequate.  Seemed nice and clean, but the bathroom is dated and looks tired. Nice towels, small bathroom that does not have a hair dryer.  There is a decent TV with many channels in the room.  WiFi was strong and reliable. Refrigerator worked well and I was able to freeze my blue ice blocks.  It was difficult to communicate with the hotel when trying to make my reservation and later when I needed to change my arrival date.  The office is only open from 11 AM to 9 PM because the owner holds down a night shift job.  Nice people and doing what they can to make this a decent place to stay.

Very convenient and good value

Clean and comfortable "mom & pop" owners that take pride in the motel. It's an older place but well maintained. Knotty pine paneled rooms equipped with everything needed including refrigerator and microwave.

Well run basic motel

Stayed  just the one night enroute to Michigan. Small  room but everything was clean and had a coffee machine with coffee. Very close to a Walmart for late night supplies. Good for pets as there is a huge back yard. 

Basic family run motel - clean, convenient

This is an old run down motel from the '60s with old rusty appliances and the most noisy air conditioner I have ever seen. The wifi runs erratically. Service is also erratic, with the unfriendly receptionist terrified by the remote possibility that guests may destroy her wonderful property who is not there at checkout.  Forget it.

Run down old motel

Some of the reviews for this motel were okay so we stayed here for a night.  There was a large rug inside the door and I assume it was a rubber back in which the rubber part had crumbled.  At first it felt like I was walking on sand or salt, but decided it was from the rug.  This covered every walking area.  I took one of the towels and washed our main walk areas and that helped.  On other places the floor was not clean as objects on the floor had been left from a previous guest.  If the floors and walls were refinished with fresh stain, and clean white or beige towels were provided, plus a fresh-looking bedspread, it could be a nice place to stay.  On a positive note, there was in-room coffee.  Breakfast was not included.  I cannot recommend this motel, and that makes me feel sad as I know it affects someone's business.
