The decor inside and out is charming. Our host, Joe, was incredibly welcoming. The rooms are super clean and have all the modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious. What an excellent way to escape the rush of city life. I had a perfect stay at this wonderful B&B in Barre, MA. Walking distance to the Harding Allen estate.

The Jenkins Inn is the nicest B&B in Barre.

My husband and I went for dinner 9/18.  We had planned to dine outdoors do to the Covid, but there was a cold snap and the owners were able to accommodate us inside, in the charming bar room.  We arrived at opening time hoping to avoid the crowd, and were lucky, we did.  The other diners that came in later were seated in the main dining room.  
We loved the linen table cloths, glassware, and refinement of the establishment as well as the kindness shown to us by the owner/server.  This was not our first time here nor it will be the last.  We so enjoyed "dressing up a bit" more than we have the last few months.  Dinner and appetizers were delightful as were the accompanying drinks from their fine offerings.  
It was a wonderful night out!
This is an actual B & B but we just went to dinner there as we were staying in the area.  The Inn is quite charming.

Lovely Dinner

Recently returned from another great stay at The Jenkins Inn!   We have been coming here for over 20 years, sometimes as a couple for a romantic getaway, and sometimes along with our two dogs.  We have stayed in the Garden View Room, The Parlor Room, and the Sunrise Suite, and all were lovely.  The suite is great a nice way to spoil yourself.  The atmosphere of the inn is so relaxing - it is beautifully kept, and the food is always fabulous.  A stroll through their lovely gardens is a must after enjoying one of their delicious breakfasts.  The innkeepers Joe and David are very welcoming to both us and our dogs, and the inn has become to feel like a second home to us.  Highly recommend to  anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Rest and Relaxation in a Friendly Atmosphere

If you like B&B's this one is lovely.  Full of charm, over the top attention to detail, spotlessly clean, and loads of nooks and crannies to explore.  The outdoor garden is full of beautiful plantings, with water fountain here, trellis there, a porch swing, statuary...  I enjoy sitting out on a porch, and it has plenty of seating.  The hosts are really easy to talk with, know the history of the area, and serve a delicious breakfast of your choice!   First time here, and not disappointed in the least!   Wondeful!

Lovely B&B!

We recently stayed at the Jenkins Inn (in their suite) and the experience was perfect. Restful, great service, beautiful clean rooms, balconies (2!), and a superb breakfast. If you're looking for a place to stay in Central Massachusetts, I highly recommend this wonderful place.

Cozy and lovely

I have been dining at the Jenkins Inn Restaurant for many years, sometimes a couple times per year...and sometimes leaving a gap of several years.  Regardless of time gone by, the quality of the dining is always consistent.  Superb cuisine lovingly prepared and presented.  And, attention to the little things that make for exceptional service.  The decor is friendly and really pleasant, making dining a special occasion.  I love this restaurant.

On my last visit, I was hosted by a friend as a birthday treat.  I chose three-onion soup gratinee for my first course.  This was followed by a salad with an emphasis on locally grown produce.  My entree was a pair of quail that were perfectly cooked.  Quail can be very difficult for any chef.  Just two minutes too long in the oven, and they come out dry.  These were perfect - served with Jasmine rice and a medley of stewed tomatoes, zucchini, and onions.  I only wish I had room for dessert.  My friend was equally happy with his steak cooked to perfection.

I heartily recommend this marvelous restaurant to any and all.  Because of limited capacity, reservations are essential.  Enjoy!

Superb Dining Experience

I had dinner with three friends on a Sunday night.  We shared a bottle of white wine, which was tasty and reasonably priced.  Then we shared an appetizer of fried duck wings, which were very good indeed.  They had way more meat than chicken wings and still had that dark duck meat flavor.  It came with a spicy sauce for dipping.  Next came the salads which were a nice mix of greens, not head lettuce.  I opted for the blue cheese dressing, which had generous chunks of blue cheese.  For entrees, one party had braised beef ravioli with hot sausage, a special for the evening.  Another had the Faroe Island salmon and I shared the roast rack of lamb with our fourth person.  There was plenty of meat on the five ribs, which they cut so the meat was equally divided.  The lamb came with a southwestern style mashed potato, skins on, mixed with kernels of corn and other things.  It also came with baby green beans gently cooked so as still to have some firmness.  All of the desserts are homemade.  Our choices were a strawberry pie and a key lime pie.  We were there for two hours enjoying friendly chatter.  We were never rushed.  David and Joe, the hosts, were very pleasant, patient (we talked a long time before ordering), and helpful with selections.  This place is a little gem.  Be sure to try it before these guys retire!

Savory dinner prepared with local produce

We stayed a number of times at the Jenkins and love everything about it. The rooms are all lovely and comfortable. We have had the pleasure of enjoying 3 of these unique rooms-  each has its own style and delights. Breakfast is scrumptious with a great choice of favorites. Dinners are not to be missed with fresh selections made with delicious sauces. The hosts are warm and thoughtful, creating the atmosphere of an inn you want to return to. The town of Barre is charming too.

Perfect Stay - Every time

I enjoyed a beautiful birthday lunch at The Jenkins Inn & Restaurant a couple years ago and I was amazed how  quaint and pleasant my time was there. The food and service was excellent!  I will revisit this restaurant again.

A wonderful place for a special occasion

The inn is charming and the innkeepers are welcoming.  The food is just wonderful.   Don't miss dinner here!  All of the food is freshly prepared and delicious.  The breakfasts are made to order (waffles, eggs, oatmeal etc.) Joe and David are wonderful hosts.  Our room was bright, clean and very nicely decorated.  We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to our friends and family.
