Such a nice experience.  Very friendly and helpful front desk clerk.  Room was spacious and clean.  Recently built modern addition.  Very comfortable.  Great recommendation from front desk clerk for breakfast at the wonderful Brown Cow two doors down.

A solid choice

Friendly,welcoming, & accommodating staff. Clean rooms, easy parking, close to area restaurants, indoor pool & hot tub, and great shower pressure in rooms. Would definitely stay there again when in the area. Easy 30 minute drive to Jay Peak and right off the highway (route 91).

Just what you’re looking for

I was very pleased with my room and the service at the Newport City Inn & Suites.  I stayed for nearly one week on a trip to see family in Newport.  I used the pool on my first morning there which was open from 7am and a member of staff was there to help me turn on the jets in the hot tub and show me where to get changed (there are changing facilities in the pool area).  

My room was very clean and accommodating, the fridge was turned down when I got there but I figured out how to work it and the microwave and they worked just fine the duration of my stay.  The bathroom was clean and the separate sink (I was in the Coventry Falls room) was good and toiletries provided.  The only thing missing was a plug in the bathtub so I couldn't take a bath, but the shower worked great.  The heater was a bit noisy but the thermostat was easy to use and controlled the temperature well.

The staff on check-in and check-out were very helpful and courteous.  I didn't have much interaction with them otherwise but I did use the washing machine and dryer (bring your own quarters, as there is not a change machine available) and these worked well.

The only downside was that my room had a door to open to the adjoining room and when my 'neighbours' were talking I could hear them (and they could probably hear me!).  But this was not the hotel's fault.  All in all, a very good stay and I would come back!

Great hotel for family visit in Newport

We needed a place to stay on our way home from Montreal and decided Newport would be a good place to stop for a day. 

We stayed in the newer building and found the room spacious, clean, and quiet. The staff were also friendly and helpful with suggestions for local restaurants. 

The hotel isn't currently offering breakfast, but they did provide a 10% discount coupon to the Brown Cow nearby, though we ended up eating at Hillmer's on Main (which isn't listed on TripAdvisor for some reason but which was excellent!)

Clean, Quiet, and Affordable

My one night stay was for business and had a very pleasant hotel with a nice pool. The room was clean and comfortable and the pool is a nice bonus which will suit families, couples, friends and single travelers.

Excellent hotel stay

Nice place.  Rooms are well kept and staff was friendly.  Best part was the pool area.  Huge warm pool that gets to 6 feet deep and huge hot tub big enough for 10 people.  Plenty of pool towels, shower, water fountain, restrooms, fitness area all right there.  Pool deck could use a few more chairs and tables though.  Pool area is kept very clean.  Room itself isn't anything special, but comparing rates of other hotels in northern VT, this is the place to go.  Highly recommended.

Good value

Nothing fancy but affordable with a comfortable bed It was  clean and everything was working. The pool and hot tub were in a nice room by the fitness room with towels provided. The pool was good-sized with beautiful tile walls and the hot tub was hot and relaxing, although we couldn’t get the jets to turn on. 

Nice place to stay in the Newport area

We stayed in the new building. The room was very nice and very clean. There is no refrigerator in the room which was the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. Also even though some travel sites say there is breakfast, there is not. There is a little restaurant in walking distance The Brown Cow that opens at 5:30 am. I highly recommend  it.

New Building

Nice motel.  Not real fancy but clean and warm with an indoor pool and hot tub.  My room and bath were smallish but that was fine with me.  The bed was comfortable.  They used lights with real light bulbs, not the 25 watt things that a cheapo place would use.  I reserved on line and for some reason my reservation tripled.   The woman at the counter fixed that without hassle but I would strongly recommend confirming your reservation on the phone.  I'll be back.  And the breakfast diner a few doors down was lovely. 

Clean, comfortable, warm and reasonably priced.  

I wish these people along with other motels / hotels would update their sites and state “no breakfast”. I usually book a place with a quick get away with a snack when we leave. Lately more places of stay only offer coffee if you are lucky
