Typical Vietnamese hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. Close to some great restaurants as well as the local market for some shopping. No hot water unfortunately  during our stay. Other than that overall good stay!

Good place

I totally recommend staying at this hotel - the rooms are big, clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and offer everything you need (toothbrush, towel, shampoo, soap etc.). The price is reasonable and it's located in the city center. The receptionist was very friendly but had limited english skills, despite that she tried to help as much as possible.

Great accomodation

Good accommodation if you like to stay local hotel and close to the centre. 
The hotel is hidden behind the big river hotel. Very close to the market and shops.
The hotel is few minutes with taxi from the ferry on the other side of the river. Great big rooms for good value for money. 
The service at the hotel is great to and polite.
The front desk can help you with many things. The local people seems very relaxing and helpful to.
The harbour few is nice for walking around and special at sunset. At night time along harbour change to many nice local restaurants. 
I recommend this place for all kind of travellers who want to get in touch with Vietnamese culture and just enjoy.

Great place to stay.

This is a *typical* small hotel of vietnam.
Nothing bad for price around 300k.
Nothing exceptionnal also but for that king of place, no reason to give only 3 stars.

You may have nice view in upper room. This is clean.
Just sad they do not propose breakfast.
 You can safely book there

Typical place

This was our 2nd choice of places to stay as our 1st choice was obviously closed down.  The hotel is located near the centre of Ha Tien with planty of places to eat.  The rooms were clean and ample for our 3 nights stay.  Oasis Bar is not far away and they are a good source for travel advice.

Good accomodation

Not by any means a terrible hotel, but overall the ambience is a bit unappealing. I just travelled through Vietnam for over a month, and this was much the most disappointing place I stayed at. Given the generally high standards of service and cleanliness that seem to prevail in the country, I would guess that - even in a little visited backwater like Ha Tien - you could probably find something much nicer at a similar price. 

The room facilities were quite poor. There's no powerpoint by the desk; no light switch by the bed. No top sheet on the bed! My room was not cleaned while I was there (though I doubt I missed out on much by that!). Standards of cleanliness are not great: several black hairs around the floor; tired old sheet, with a number of small holes in it; one of the pillow slips rather stained.

The cable TV and wi-fi were OK, at least. Also, the bed was very firm (which I like; but it doesn't suit a lot of people). And there's an elevator, which is a rarity in SE Asia.

The 'mini-bar' selection is very limited, and not well priced. And there's no complimentary drinking water (almost unheard of in Asia!).

The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work; the strip light in the bathroom failed (starter unit problem, or loose connection); was 'repaired', but immediately failed again. The shower drains towards the bathroom door rather than away from it, and the drain is well above lowest part of floor - so, water pools along the sill of the door, and is difficult to get rid of. The water out of the tap stinks of sulphur - really foul! I imagine this must be a problem everywhere in town, but I've never encountered anything like it before; tap water in SE Asia is usually OK to drink, and certainly to brush teeth with - but I was hesitant even to wash in this (luckily the water from the shower did not have this smell). Water from the shower, after it had run for 30 seconds, became DANGEROUSLY HOT; and it was very difficult to balance the temperature. 

Overall, the place just feels rather tatty and rundown - an impression not helped by the fact that the housekeeping staff leave piles of dirty laundry on the landings (often indeed, at the foot of the stairwells, obstructing access) for hours at a time.

The reception staff were somewhat glum and unhelpful too.

The large restaurant area on the ground floor is not in use (except as a spot for a few locals to hang out chewing the fat and smoking), as apparently there is no kitchen! 

There are HUGE numbers of small birds in the area which make a lot of noise, especially early evening and early morning (again, a general hazard everywhere in Ha Tien!). 

At least it's got a good central location, near the seafood night market (but Ha Tien is very small; nothing's more than a 10-minute walk away). And it's cheap. But it is - BY FAR - the most disappointing place I've ever stayed at in Vietnam. 

Most visitors are only passing through Ha Tien for one night, on their way to or from the islands - and so probably don't care too much about their accommodation. But I'm sure there must be better options here.
