This hotel is an excellent location to explore Saigon from. It is located within a few blocks of the War Remanents Museum. From here you can easily walk to many restaurants and other sites on the "must see list". At night and in the morning there is also a good choice of street food locations that I enjoy. Taxi ride from airport was about 120,000 vnd. Just be sure you get in the official taxi rank and go with Mai Linh or other "official" taxi. Must have a meter and be using it. Especially watch out for trollers offering taxis as you exit the airport. Even booths inside and outside airport will quote you outrageous charges for your trip.

Good value, inner city location

I spent 4 days here with my friend's family.
_Location: awesome, stay away from the tourist area but still close enough to walk to the center and to some attractions.
_Room: They don't sell deluxe room (which has a window and far bigger) on booking.com, only standard room, but you can ask them to change when you reach the hotel. Very comfortable bed and nice, clean bathroom, however, the room was quite smelly (ciggarett for sure). No breakfast included.
_Staff: very friendly but they were quite naive, just like they don't really notice on things.
One night I came back late and I saw many girls sitting at the lobby (I wasn't sure if they are prostitutes or not, but they look really like). And one morning I saw some local girls in shorts 
eaving the hotel. So I think it's a hookup hotel.
I don't think I will come back, there should be better hotels with more reasonable price.

Nice place to stay away from tourist area

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to Tao Dan, Ben Thahn, the War Remnants Museum and the Reunification Palace.  There are many coffee shops and restaurants in the area.  The staff are friendly and helpful, and were awake when I arrived at 4 a.m.  Unfortunately I booked on booking.com and they placed me in a room without a window, very cramped but otherwise fairly clean.  The hallways are loud, and the doors as well when you close them.  There is no breakfast.  A decent option, although there are better rooms in the city for less.

Ask for a Room with Window

My short stay at Ruby was not so pleasant. The air-con was position off-centered as such the room felt warm all the time. Noises from walking guests along the walkway can be heard clearly from the room.

Short stay at Ruby No Star :-)

We arrived at almost midnight really tired and they told us that one of the rooms had the AC broken and that we had to be taken to another hotel (cheaper and with bad location), we asked them to stay there even with the broken AC and they said no, we looked other reviews and we realized that they overbooked the hotel all the time in order to charge the Ruby price and make the people stay in the cheapest one. The could tell us in advance but they waited until we arrived, playing with our time. Fortunately the 25 hotel close to this awful Ruby hotel had available rooms.
It's a shame that we cannot review the hotel in booking because this hotel doesn't deserve the score they had.
