Agreed with all other reviews that the homestay itself is very nice -- you are a part of their home with a nice family (three generations -- parents, two kids, daughter-in-law, baby grandson), good room/bathroom for being in the country (AC/fan, clean, no hot water but to be expected), lovely fields nearby, and breakfast (down the street at a little local pho stand) and dinner included. 

I want to give a bit more detail on how to actually get here because I was deeply confused from looking online prior to arrival. No matter how you arrive in Chau Doc (I came by Hang Chau boat from Phnom Penh -- very nice), you should get in touch with the Thanh Nham 2 hotel in advance to tell them of your arrival time and they can arrange transport to the homestay. It would be virtually impossible to get there yourself. In some guidebooks/online they are called Mekong Tours, but from my understanding this is an older company that no longer exists and has been subsumed by the Thanh Nham 2 hotel that doubles as a tour agency and knows the homestay. (I ended up finding my way to Thanh Nham once I arrived and they were nice enough to take me to the homestay but better to contact them in advance).

The family doesn't speak English but there is a lady who works at Thanh Nham and lives down the street from the homestay who acts as your local "tour guide" and will introduce you to the family on arrival, take you around the local fields on the first day, and then arrange other excursions via motorbike taxi if you would like. I did my tours through Ms. San Tours, however, and would highly recommend that for a more personal experience.

Nice countryside experience for Tet

This is a home stay with a local farming family. Do not expect luxury. Toilet and shower are across an open courtyard. Room is simple but clean. Roosters crow at 3.00 am. BUT the experience is wonderful. The wife/mother of the family and I sat for more than an hour after a delicious home cooked dinner just getting along great despite the fact that her only English was "hello" and my only Vietnamese was "thank you". But we had a great time. The next day, Diem from Mekong Tours came and showed me around the area - farms, orchards, local people. Everyone was very friendly.
One piece of advice: Don't try to go there on your own. This homestay is organized by Mekong Tours, which is very easy to find, and they will arrange transport to the home for you. So if you arrive by bus or boat, go first to Mekong Tours.

Super nice people, wonderful experience

I cannot recommend staying at this homestay enough. We booked it through Agoda and were a bit skeptical at first because there are not many reviews, but trust me, it's worth it.
 
I arrived in Chau Doc on a boat from Cambodia and had the boat operator (spoke English and Vietnamese) call the number listed to arrange pick up. There is no email address listed, so I feel this is the best way to contact the homestay. A motorbike arrived within 10 minutes and took us into the village. The family does not speak English, but one does not need words to see how friendly and welcoming they are. The woman is in touch with a local travel agency that she will call when you arrive to translate what's going on and to arrange to be picked up whenever your stay is over. They have a mango tree farm and a fish farm and will take you around the village to show you all the local food and local people. This place is not near the city center and does not have wifi, so expect to unwind and truly experience each moment.

It has been the highlight of our trip so far. If you want a true, authentic experience, get off the beaten track and stay at this homestay.

Wonderful opportunity

We were driven to this place on a bike. rickety little village roads took us through farms and little markets to reach their house. It was nicely set in the countryside with lots of farms around. the hosts welcomed us warmly and showed us our room. though they couldn't speak english we could communicate easily. we used google translate on my phone and would make them read it. 
living space is minimal, clean and enough for a homestay. A bed and a good loo.. thats all you need. You should have your expectations right about this place and you will be more than happy. Dont expect five star stay. Its good value for money. You get entry into a typical vietnamese house, they offered us supper with them, we played with their little child and made good friends with the host. 
I went for a walk around the place. People were quite surprised to see a stranger/indian in that part of town. i wandered into someone's farm and when he stumbled upon me wandering about he offered me a papaya from his farm very lovingly. No talk, no speak... genuine warm hearted people.

simple, beautiful countryside stay with warm hosts

We were so glad we decided to stay here. It was an experience unlike any other on our trip. The family don't speak any English at all so I'd recommend learning a few simple Vietnamese words/phrases (hello, thanks, my name is) to break the ice. A local English-speaking travel agent named Yim arrived at the house a couple of hours after we did to check we were settled in and organised a tour of the family's mango orchard and fish farm the following morning. Worth noting that dinner with the family isn't included in the price, which seems odd. We paid $5 extra to eat a delicious meal with the family and this was the best opportunity to interact with them. I'd definitely recommend asking Yim to ask the family if you can join them for dinner. There are very few eating options in the village and everything shuts up early because it's a farming community. Getting to the home stay is a bit confusing as it's a 10-minute drive out of town and the address given drew blank expressions in Chau Doc. You're best off heading to the travel agent and they'll arrange a free lift to the accommodation for you.
