Great Place with cool people. The stuff is organizing a beach party and workshops.   Fireshow on the beach and the bar with Live music. Cool volunteer team and you an become a part of it!

Cool place with hippie vibes

There are so many great things I can say about this place but the one that tops them all is that every single person here has such a beautiful and magical soul! They're all super warm hearted and very welcoming to the point where I was made to feel I can and will call Woodstock home!

This place has the most epic vibe!

THERE IS FIRE DANCING! what's not to love about that?

Over my stay here I have been welcomed to a big family dinner with everybody here, I have been taught how to dance with fire, I have had beautiful chilled nights watching movies with all! Some days have been spent learning to make awesome jewelry and others just being arty and creative or just hanging out with this wonderful group! 

A superb place to stay, and not to mention it looks awesome! You can stay out in the open on the balcony upstairs, they have huts and tents on the beach and also a second chill area!

This place really is so awesome!

This Place Is Home!

Both great viby places! The staff were so lovely, and the fire show was incredible! Beach camp is very well worn, but it's all part of the experience, when as the jungle camp was new and BEAUTIFUL! We didn't want to leave! 

(off topic) Diesel - where did you find the seaweed crackers you very kindly gave us when we checked in? They are amazing munchy food but not seen then since, hahaha 

Stayed at beachcamp and jungle camp 

We were staying at the eco lodge on Cat Ba and my wife, daughter and I decided to take a bike ride to the beach (as the pool was full of algae but that’s another story). Anyway we arrived at the beach and were instantly attracted by the reggae music coming from the Woodstock Baby bar. Two beers and an hour later we had many more tales to tell as a result of our off agenda stopover. Get your schwifty on at Woodstock Baby!!!!

What a Surprise!

Rustic but comfortable. Be prepared to rent a motorbike or take the bus to get to town. They have free bike rentals but the ones we used were in rough condition. Staff was accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom has shower and toilet in same space, no divider. Delicious fried noodles. No safe in the room. You can earn a free beer by picking up trash on the beach across from the hotel, and you can will a giant trash bag in a few minutes.

Most people staying there smoked, and we don’t, so the public spaces being full of smoke was off-putting for me. 

We were only here one night, and that night there was loud music starting around the time we went to bed. Maybe karaoke or some type of club music. Bring earplugs.

Rustic but comfortable. Late night music.

Woodstock beach camp was a paradise on the island of Cat Ba. The people, the scenery and the general good vibes make it a must stay when visiting. HOWEVER, do not eat any food (apart from the breakfast eggs) from the kitchen. On the day of leaving I spoke to 11 people who were sick (I was sick the day before) having eaten from here. Stick to the food in nearby Cat Ba town. Apart from that 5/5!

Amazing place but do not eat the food!

The staff here was amazing and could not have been nicer. For around $6.00 USD per night we can't complain. Some of the other visitors were extremely rude, but that is not the fault of the staff. The issue we had was the water in our room not working. With 5 people staying in a small room connected to a bathroom where the toilet won't even flush; that was a bit of an issue. Other than that, I would recommend staying here. Good location, close to town and has a cute beach just across the street from the base camp. They offer bus services back to Hanoi and have rides to take you to and from town everyday.

Cheap stay, but you get what you pay for

If you just want a place to stay with like minded individuals, then this is your place. If you dont like people sleeping on mattresses on the floor as you walk your room, music all night, holes in the floor, and subpar scooters for rent, then this isn't for you. We were going to try it out for at least one night, but the general vibe didnt sit well with us. Not to mention, my girlfriend had a headache. Therefore, we booked a different hotel in town.  Also, it takes 15 minutes to drive to where anything (bars, restaurants, shops, etc) is. So you either take a 150k-200k taxi, wait for the bus which is once or 2 times a day or rent their janky scooters for 80k and take a risk with your life. 

It is what it is. 

Place was okay, I could care less about the cleanliness and whatnot - that stuff was okay, and the staff were pretty nice. What wasn't okay is getting charged 550K for a bus where everyone else on the bus got charged 450K. Also paid what I found out was about 50-100K extra for the boat tour that they do. For a place that wants to embody the anti-capitalist, free-spirited culture of the 60s, it sure does a good job of taking your money...

Okay place - rip you off on tours, buses

This place feels like they are trying to copy Pai in Thailand but in reality it feels more like they have created a haven for pretentious white people who think they are “one with Mother Nature”. The rooms and tours are over priced. There are holes in the floor of the private rooms. The only privacy you get from booking a private room is the walls, as you can hear absolutely everything from below you and beside you. We rented a bike for half a day, the check engine light came on and so we went back to tell them and they waved us on our way, despite there being clear signs and sounds that the bike wasn’t safe to drive. The drinks and Balloons are way more expensive than in town which is 15 minutes away so you can’t just go there unless you rent one of those death trap scooters! We switched to a hotel after being there half a day. Do yourself a favor and do the same! The bars in town have cheap prices and AMAZING happy hours!
